NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Austin Peay State University's track and field team earned a pair of runner-up finishes, with freshman Molly Brown and the 4x100-meter relay team earning second-place marks on the final day of Vanderbilt's Outdoor Music City Challenge, Saturday, at the Vanderbilt Outdoor Track Complex.
The Governors began the day's events in the field where Emma Tucker posted a season-best 47.33-meter throw in the hammer toss. Madelyn Kocick then earned a fifth-place finish in the triple jump.
The Govs then earned a pair of top five finishes in the shot put, with Tucker and China Giaimo finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
In the opening round of the 100-meter hurdles, Brown set a personal best of 14.24, beating her previous time of 14.53 set last month at the Texas Relays. Brown then again beat her previous best in the event, finishing second in the finals with a time of 13.80.
The Governors quartet of Seven Pettus, Isis Banks, Mariah Mitchem, and Mallory Hodge then earned a runner-up finish in the 4x100 with a time of 45.31 – the program's fastest mark in the event this season. Remaining on the track, Mia McGee set a personal best in the 400-meter dash with a 53.93, besting her previous PR by nine hundredths of a second, which she set in her silver-medal performance at the Atlantic Sun Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 28.
Laure Marie Kidukula then finished fifth in the 800-meter with a personal-best time of 2:08.74.
Up next, the Governors prepare for the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Championships, May 14-16, at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
