Biography
2012-13: Second on team in both scoring average (72.91) and winning percentage (85.3 percent)… selected All-OVC for second time in career… finished with four sub-70 rounds and 13 below-par rounds… after season’s first two tournaments became Govs most consistent golfer… worst finish in those nine events was 12th place… had four top-5 finishes and fourth other in Top 10… recorded one second- and three third-place finishes on year… finished under par five times in tourney play… struggled with swing changes in first two fall tourneys… but ended fall with third-place finish at Bearcat Invitational, 10th-place at WKU Kenny Perry Invitational and seventh-place finish F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate… opened spring season with season-best second-place finish at Harmony Golf Preserve Intercollegiate, shooting 216… followed that up with a 213 and third-place effort at Carter Plantation Intercollegiate, closing with 68 and 69 over final two rounds… overcame opening-round 81 at Memphis to take 12th against staunch field, shooting 71-74 over final two rounds… the next week finished third at ASU Red Wolves Intercollegiate, shooting a season-low 212… finished ninth at COG Mizzou Intercollegiate with a three-round 217… tied for 10th at OVC championships with a 1-under 141… rescued struggling round with eagle on No. 17 during tourney’s final day, finishing at even par 72.
2011-12: The sophomore struggled early but came on late in the season and helped lift the Govs to a second place finish in the OVC... Of his 10 rounds at par or better, four came in the season's last two tournaments... Only Gov to appear in more than three tournaments who didn't record a round in the 80s... Winner of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate shot an eight-under 208, going under par all three rounds and record 69s in the second and third for his only rounds in the 60s last season... Tied for ninth in the Triumph at Pauma Valley, shooting a 223 (75-72-76), which triggered a string of three consecutive top-15 finishes... Led the Govs with a fourth-place finish at the UALR First Tee Classic, shooting six-over par (72-74-76)... Finished 15th out of 120 competitors at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate, shooting a three-over par 216 (74-70-72)... Tied with teammate Anthony Bradley for third at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational, leading the Govs to a second-place team finish with a three-over par 213 (73-70-70)... Shot a two-over par 218 (71-75-72) to finish 13th overall at the OVC Championships.
2010-2011: As a freshman, Iten was named to the All-OVC second team…he was the only Governor to compete in all 11 tournaments for the team…he led the team with 29 of his 30 rounds counting for the Governors...he finished as the Govs leading scorer in three consecutive tournaments…finished the season second on the team with a 73.63 stroke average and three top-15 finishes…his best finish came at the Grub Mart-Young Oil Intercollegiate where he posted 216 (74-69-73) to place seventh and record his only top-10 finish…he ranked second on the team with eight rounds under par and three rounds shooting 70 or better…his second-round 68 at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate was his season’s low round…began his freshman campaign after firing 215 (70-72-73) at the Marshall Invitational to finish 40th…shot 220 (73-72-75) at the Cardinal Intercollegiate to finish 32nd…shot a two-round score 151 (73-78) to finish 28th at the Telich/Sunlife Financial…finished 37th at the Bearcat Invitational after shooting 225 (80-70-75)…began his streak as finishing as the team’s leading scorer at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate after firing 208 (71-68-69) to finish 12th…also led the team at the USF Invitational after shooting 225 (78-77-70) to finish 57th…completed his impressive streak at the Triumph at Pauma Valley, where he finished 14th after shooting 224 (74-75-75)…shot a two-round score 147 (76-71) at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate to finish 44th…finished 26th after shooting a 227 (77-71-79) at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational…at the OVC Championships he shot a two-round score 151 (72-79) to finish 28th.
Previously: Spent 2010 at the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy after prepping at KZU Buelach in Switzerland… ranked as high as 1365 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings… played on the Swiss National Junior Team.
Personal: Son of Heiner Iten and Edith Iten Salvoldi... born July 26, 1990... plans to major in business.
