Biography

College: All-America candidate, being named preseason All-America all-purpose back by Lindy’s magazine...APSU’s all-time leading rusher is coming off outstanding junior season...after narrowly missing the 1000-yard plateau previous two seasons, finished with 1401 yards in 2006, second-best single-season rushing effort in APSU history...his 127.36 rushing yards per game ranked 10th nationally at 1-AA...finished eighth in nation in scoring (9.82 ppg)...his 18 TDs, including 16 rushing scores, tied a school record...scored at least one TD in all but two games...finished campaign with nine 100-yard rushing contests, including career-best 197 yards against Morehead State and 182 at Cumberland...also had 163 yards rushing versus North Greenville...in fact, became APSU’s all-time rushing leader in that contest, surpassing the 2992 yards of Jay Bailey...also owns APSU career mark for rushing attempts with 684...finished season with six straight 100-yard contests...now owns career-record 20 100-yard rushing efforts...finished fourth in nation for all-purprose yards (167.45 ypg) as versatile back caught 22 passes and returned 14 kickoffs...ranked third on team in receptions, including 60-yard catch against UT Martin...in 2005 as sophomore, narrowly missed rushing for 1000 yards for second straight season...after missing by 26 yards as freshman, came up 30 yards short as sophomore...had five 100-yard-plus games, including 184 yards on 21 carries against Valparaiso...began season with 107-yard effort against Charleston before rushing for 153 versus Cumberland...also had 100-yard performances against Jacksonville (119) and Missouri-Rolla (121)...burst onto the scene as a freshman...rushed for 161 yards in the season opener at Campbellsville and held the No. 1 tailback spot for season’s remainder... narrowly missed gaining 1000 rushing yards in first season, finishing with 974 yards...averaged 4.3 yards per carry...overcame midseason slump to finish with six 100-yard-plus contests... in addition to 161-yard performance, rushed 37 times for 155 yards in overtime game against Davidson, including 19 yards in overtime...combines good speed with quick ability to attack the hole... has improved pass-catching ability...was third on team in 2004 with 25 receptions for 144 yards and second with 17 a year ago...High School: Running back/free safety for Jim Snider at Clarksville High School...named All-Area MVP as senior...also named all-district and all-region...named team’s top running back and defensive backs...Personal: Business management major...two-time member of Athletics Director’s Honor Roll ...son of Christopher and Cathy Fletcher...born May 5, 1986...age 21
