Biography

College: Coming off superb junior season...in first season as Govs starting quarterback became only third passer in APSU history to throw for 2000 or more yards...tallied six 200-yard or better passing efforts, including career-best 308 yards against Charleston...his effort was first 300-yard performance by a Govs since 2001...threw two TD passes on four different occasions...completed 50 percent or better of his passes in 10 of 11 games...connected on 26 of 34 passes against Charleston, his 76.4 percent ranking third best all time with 10 or more completions... followed that up by hitting 23 of 35 following week against North Greenville...fell just three yards short of 300 passing yards against UT Martin when he completed 21 of 35 tosses...shared position early during 2005 with incumbent Jesse Kellogg, but knee injury slowed progress...in reserve role threw for 66 yards (5-for-6 passing) against Missouri-Rolla and 75 (6-for-10 passing) versus St. Joseph’s... played sparingly in first APSU season...original plan was to redshirt young quarterback prospect but unforeseen depth problems developed as fall practice started...saw season’s first action against Dayton, completing two-of-three passes for 13 yards...High School: Quarterback and free safety for Bill Young at Christian Academy of Knoxville...earned all-state and all-region...was named Region 1A Offensive Player of the Year...was named PrepXtra second-team quarterback...finished as East Tennessee-area leading passer...Personal: Business major...two-time member of Athletics Director’s Honor Roll...son of Ron and Jan Cunningham...born March 5, 1985...age 22.
