Biography
2010 Singles: First-team All-OVC pick as a freshman…
Govs top singles player, at No. 3 during the season… posted a 13-4 overall
record; going 10-1 at No. 3 and recording a 5-2 OVC mark… played 11 matches at
No. 2 singles, stepping out to play No. 2 twice along the way… went 1-1 at
No.2 singles, picking up only win against Alabama A&M… opened the
Spring season with four straight wins, beginning with three-set win
against Kennesaw State’s Simon Janik… turned out to be season’s only three-set
match… lost No. 2 singles at Tennessee Tech, beginning a lull where he lost two
of three… after a tie-break loss against Eastern Kentucky, won his final six
matches… that included an OVC tournament win against Morehead State’s Bradley
Bryan in straight sets….Doubles: One of the league’s top doubles
players, teaming with fellow freshman Sean Bailey… played 17 matches, going
13-4 overall, with a 5-2 OVC mark alongside Bailey… opened Fall season with
four straight wins… most impressive stretch came after OVC loss at Jacksonville
State… from that point, Bailey and Norbiato reeled off seven-straight
wins… run started with a tiebreak win at Tennessee Tech… won the next four
matches in regulation… also won in a tiebreak against Murray State’s Ben Clos
and Jorge Caetano... an OVC loss at Eastern Illinois bookended the Spring
season… in the middle, won four straight OVC matches.
High School: Ranked as high as No. 1187 by the International Tennis Federation (ITF)… made it to the round of 16 at the 2008 Londrina Open in the ITF Juniors World Circuit… also made it to the semifinals in doubles action that same year… was ranked as high as No. 9 in Brazil.
Personal: Son of Carlos and Leny Norbiato... born July 31, 1991... plans to major in business management.
