2009-10: As a junior, Balthrop played in 11 tournaments, struggling to a 77.37 stroke average… he played his best golf in the fall season… his best finish came at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational where he finished t-16, shooting 73-72-74=209… Balthrop recorded three under-par rounds, all coming in fall tournaments.

2008-09: As a sophomore, Balthrop was named to the OVC All-Tournament Team, finishing fifth with a three-round 218 (73-76-69), including a final-round 69 at the OVC Championship...his best finish came at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate where he fired a 209 (70-66-73) to finish fourth...his second-round 66 also was his season's low round...he had five top-10 finishes...owned the third-best scoring average for the Govs with a 74.7...Balthrop had a .594 winning percentage... during the summer, Balthrop shot a Swan Lake Golf Course-record tying 62 in the final round of the Clarksville City Amateur to win the title...he also qualified and made the cut in the Tennessee State Amateur Tournament. 

2007-08: As a freshman, Balthrop competed in all 11 tournaments for the Governors, with 27 of his 33 rounds counting for the team... he was the only Govs freshman and one of only three team members to compete in all 11 tournaments...at the Arkansas State Indian Classic he helped lead the Govs to victory by firing a career-low, three-round 216, including a career-low 68 in the first round...Balthop posted his season’s best finish at the OVC Championship where he finished tied for 22nd with a three day 233 (79-79-75).

High School: Played at Clarksville High School under coach David Edgin... the local standout was ranked sixth for the class of 2007 in Tennessee, according to the National Junior Golf Scoreboard... named Class AAA All-State after finishing fifth at the 2005 state tourney... led the Wildcats to back-to-back state championships in 2005 and 2006... in the summer of 2006, claimed medalist honors at the Mayor’s Classic, and Clarksville Junior Amateur Championships while finishing third at the Tennessee Junior Amateur.
