Biography

College: Will attempt to work way up depth chart after suffering thumb injury in season’s fourth game against UT Martin...underwent surgery and still seemed to be affected by thumb problem during spring...struggled throwing ball downfield, which typically is his strength...again will compete for starting job with three others...opened 2008 as starter after concluding 2007 as No. 1...started season opener at North Dakota State, but completed only 2 of 9 passes for 21 yards...improved in second outing, throwing for 169 yards and two TDs on 17 of 29 passing at Georgia Southern... struggled against Gardner-Webb, throwing four interceptions, but completing a season-high 22 of 42 pass to a tie career-best with 191 yards...injured his thumb after suffering a late out-of-bounds hit against Tennessee Martin...played with greater confidence in Spring 2008 after some up-and-down moments in 2007...walk-on was Govs’ No. 3 quarterback to open season, but earned the starting job for 2008 after a strong finish to 2007...fended off challenges of three others in spirited competition during spring practice...played with greater confidence in that spring...walk-on was Govs’ No. 3 quarterback to open season...however, came off bench at Tennessee Tech and delivered clutch performance in leading Govs to victory...completed 13 of 17 passes for 191 yards and two TD passes...finished season with strong effort at Murray State...completed 12 of 22 passes for 189 yards, including 10 of 12 for 160 yards in the second half...Govs starter against Jacksonville State, Samford and Southeast Missouri... owns ability to throw ball deep...played sparingly during 2006...was forced to enter game at start of second half at Samford when starter Mark Cunningham was experiencing elbow problems...completed his only pass attempt but was sacked twice in the series...also completed his only pass attempt against Charleston, a 44-yard scoring strike...redshirted in 2005...High School: Earned all-city, all-region and All-State as senior...was named Tennessee Player of the Year...also selected Coca-Cola Redzone Player of the Year...Personal: Health specialization major...previous member of Athletics Director’s Honor Roll...son of Kevin and Gary Orr...born Aug. 1, 1987...age 21.
