Academics: AD Honor Roll (S16), Dean’s List (S16)

As a junior: Former defensive lineman became well-acclimated on the other side of the ball… made nine appearances and eight starts, including the season’s first six games as well as back-to-back starts against Mercer and Southeast Missouri… aided an offense that gained more than 4,000 yards total offense for just the second time in school history.

As a sophomore: Conversion from the defensive front resulted in four starts at right tackle… appeared in nine games overall.

As a freshman: After making nine appearances on the defensive front as a freshman, moved to the other side of the trenches during spring practice... Made four total tackles during his freshman campaign, including a half-tackle for loss in his final appearance against Southeast Missouri.

High School: 2013 Associated Press Division 1-2 All-State honorable mention selection at Carman-Ainsworth High School… 2013 Sports Scene Football Dream Team honorable mention… also selected first-team all-conference… member of team that captured first regional championship while also gaining first state semifinal berth.

Personal: General business major… son of Darryl and Pam Johnson… born Sept. 16… father played basketball (guard) at Michigan State (1983-87) and later in the NBA and overseas.
