Academic Honors: AD Honor Roll (S15, S16, F16, S17); Dean's List (S17); President's List (S17)
As a junior: Was in the defensive front rotation early and often, finding myriad ways to disrupt opposing offenses… recorded three tackles and forced a fumble in the season opener at Troy, Sept. 3… made four tackles and earned a share of a sack in the Sept. 10 home opener against Tennessee Tech… had season-best five tackles at Eastern Illinois (Sept. 24), UT Martin (Oct. 8) and Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 12)… also had a half-tackle for loss against the Skyhawks.
As a sophomore: After starting the season at end, moved back inside when injuries hit… started the season opener against Mercer, recording a season-high five tackles… shared a tackle for loss against Southern Miss, Murray State and Jacksonville State, the latter being his lone sack in 2015… forced a fumble in the season finale at Tennessee Tech… picked up a blocked punt behind the line of scrimmage and raced 50 yards for a first down, the Governors second-longest play from scrimmage against Eastern Illinois.
As a freshman: Local product stepped right into a big role, appearing in all 12 games and making seven starts… tallied 33 tackles (four for loss) as a freshman… had five tackles, including a shared tackle for loss, at Eastern Illinois… had another five-tackle day against Eastern Kentucky, including a full tackle for loss… concluded the season with five tackles, one for loss, and forced a fumble in the finale against Tennessee Tech.
High School: A two-sport standout, was an all-district and all-area selection in football and wrestling… was a defensive lineman for head coach John Offutt at West Creek High School… as a senior, finished eighth in the 220-pound weight class of the TSSAA Class AAA State Wrestling Tournament.
Personal: Communication arts major… son of Niyana and Corey Mills… born July 2.
