Biography

Academic Honors: Athletics Director's Honor Roll (S17)

As a junior in 2017-18: Made four appearances as a junior, posting top-20 finishes in half of them… finished 19th at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate (74-73-77—224)… placed 11th at the Phoenix Invitational as an individual, carding a 150 (78-72) which included a season-low 72 in the final round.

As a sophomore in 2016-17: One of the most improved Governors on the roster, saw a big jump in production as he became a fixture in the lineup… broke out with a fifth-place finish at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, shooting a two-over 218 (69-77-72)… led off the Invitational at Savannah Harbor with a one-under 71… one of two Govs to post all three rounds in the 70s at the Sacramento State Invitational, finishing 32nd (78-77-75-230)… one of a trio of Govs to open the Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational with an even-par 72, finishing with a 146 (72-74).

As a freshman in 2015-16: Appeared in four tournaments, all as an individual, during his freshman season… opened his career with a 230 (81-73-76) at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate… finished tied for 48th at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, shooting a 232 (74-83-75) on the par-72 track.

Prior to APSU: Was member of Lincoln High School prep golf team for four years…led team in stroke average for final three seasons…advanced as individual district to regional competition as sophomore and junior…as senior, led team to regional golf tournament…twice selected to compete in the Panhandle Cup, a Ryder Cup-style competition pitting the best eighth male and four female players from the East and West regions of the Florida panhandle…qualified for the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) Boys Junior championship for four year…also participated in numerous Florida Junior Tour, Southeastern Junior Tour, United States Golf Association (USGA) and independent tournaments and qualifiers…gained a second-place finish in the Rocky Bayou Junior Classic (73-72 145), a sixth-place finish in the Dothan (Ala.  Country Club Junior (78-71 149), and fifth-place Doublegate (Ga.) Junior Classic (73-76 149)…won 2014 Jim Yancy Junior title (Ocala, Fla.) and finished runner up (77-72=149) in 2015…

Personal: Son of Tom and Pat Butscher of Tallahassee…plans to major in English.
