2019 (Redshirt Senior): A first-team All-OVC selection at left tackle… used the new redshirt rule to return from an injury plagued 2018 and start 14 games… primarily appeared at left tackle, but moved inside to play center and guard when called upon due to injuries… was the leader of the Governors offensive line which allowed an OVC-low 14 sacks on the season… one of the Govs four team captains, he helped lead the offense to program records in total offense (6,288 yards), rushing touchdowns (34), and passing touchdowns (32)… wrapped up his career by being named the 2020 recipient of the Austin Peay Male Legends award at the ESPEAYs.
2018 (Senior): Started at left tackle in the first four games of the season, but will use the new redshirt rule to return in 2019 after injuries derailed his season… helped the Govs score 78 points at Morehead State (Sept. 15), the highest point total for an OVC member against a Division I opponent in the conference’s history.
2017 (Junior): A second-team All-OVC selection at left tackle… also named to the OVC All-Newcomer team… anchored an offensive line that only allowed 10 sacks all season… was an integral part of the nation’s No. 6 ranked rushing attack that set school records in yards (3,105) and touchdowns (32)... started all 12 games in his first year as a Gov.
Prior to Austin Peay: Was a two-year letterwinner at Vanderbilt, seeing 11 games as a true freshman and catching a touchdown pass against Kentucky… prepped at Station Camp High School, where he was a three-year team captain, two-time team MVP... Two-way-starter (QB/DE) as senior...Three-year starter at quarterback, helped Bison to 2013 district and region titles and state playoffs.... Produced more than 1,800 yards of total offense and 21 total TDs as senior QB... Earned 2014 Music City Bowl Tradition of Service Award... Invited to play in postseason Tennessee East vs. West Game... Starting center on Station Camp's basketball team.
Personal: Son of Mark Anderton and Yvonne Duncan... father coached collegiate football; mom played collegiate basketball... born Feb. 26… One of seven siblings: brothers Payton, Steven and Matt; sisters Matkie, Katie and Avery.
