Athletics Director's Honor Roll (S20, S21)
2021 (Graduate Student): A reliable pass-catcher for the Governors throughout the 2021 season, Harley finished the season second on the team in receptions (48), receiving yards (800), receiving touchdowns (7) and all-purpose yards (854), earning First Team All-OVC recognition… Began the season with one touchdown in each of his first five games, including a 30-yard score during a six-catch, 128-yard outing at Chattanooga (Sept. 2) in the season opener… Hauled in three catches for 57 yards at Ole Miss (Sept. 11) before recording four catches for 83 yards in the home opener against Morehead State (Sept. 18)… Had a career-high nine catches for 136 yards and a score at Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 25)… Had 85 and 86 receiving yards against Tennessee State (Oct. 2) and Southeast Missouri (Oct. 9)… Simultaneously became the fifth player in program history to surpass 2,000-career receiving yards and third Gov to record 20 receiving touchdowns on a 35-yard score against Murray State (Oct. 23) in a four-catch, 54-yard outing… Saved the best performance of his career for last, hauling in five catches for a career-high 148 receiving yards and a touchdown against Tennessee State (Nov. 13) – the sixth 100-plus yard receiving game of his career... Finished his career with the third-most receiving touchdowns (21), fifth-most receiving yards (2,201), sixth-most receiving yards per game (53.4), and the ninth-most receptions (137) in program history... His 25 career touchdowns are also tied with DeAngelo Wilson for the eighth-most at Austin Peay.
2020-2021 (Senior): Continued to be a Swiss Army knife for the Governors, ranking fourth in all-purpose yards with 440 and catching five touchdowns in eight games... Led the team in receiving against Pittsburgh (Sept. 12) and No. 13 Cincinnati (Sept. 19) with 83 and 94 receiving yards, respectively… Totaled 89 all-purpose yards on 12 touches against Southeast Missouri (March 14), including 76 receiving yards on eight receptions... Hauled in a single-game record four touchdowns receptions against SEMO, joining Ron Blair (2001) and Harold “Red” Roberts (1967, ’69) as the third player in program history to reach that mark… Completed his sixth career pass against Tennessee State (Feb. 28) on an 18-yard toss to DeAngelo Wilson… Tallied 51 return yards on eight attempts on special teams.
2019 (Junior): Did a little bit of everything in 15 games, rushing for four touchdowns, catching seven scores and even passing for a touchdown in his various roles… His 53 receptions and 839 receiving yards are both 11th most in program history and his nine touchdown receptions are ninth all time… Biggest moments came in Govs’ NCAA Round 2 victory at No. 4 Sacramento State, Dec. 7… Caught a touchdown pass from JaVaughn Craig to put the Govs up 14-0… Then recovered the ball on the ensuing on-side kick, the Govs only on-side attempt of the season… On the following drive broke through the line on 4th-and-1 for a 45-yard touchdown dash to put the Govs ahead 21-0… Threw his touchdown pass in season-opener against North Carolina Central, Aug. 29, connecting with DeAngelo Wilson on a 40-yard strike… Had two 100-yard receiving days… First came at Tennessee State, Oct. 19, with his six catches going for 109 yards and a touchdown… Posted career-best 136 receiving yards against Eastern Illinois, Nov. 23, with two touchdowns… Recorded a reception in 14 of 15 contests.
2018 (Sophomore): Transitioned to a wide receiver role as a sophomore and finished third on the team with 182 receiving yards on just eight receptions, for a 22.8 yards per catch average… had three catches for 86 yards and two scores against Tennessee Tech (Oct. 27), including a 65-yarder… had a career-long 73-yard catch and run against Tennessee State (Oct. 6), the sixth-longest reception in APSU history… caught first two career passes in season opener at Georgia (Sept. 1)… had three kickoff returns for 80 yards at Morehead State (Sept. 15).
2017 (Freshman): Reserve quarterback appeared in five games… rushed 15 times for 55 yards on the season… rushed five times for 32 yards against Southeast Missouri (Oct. 21)… completed a 27-yard touchdown at Tennessee Tech (Nov. 4).
High School: Three-year letter winner at Ramsay HS… Led Ramsay to Class 6A Alabama Championship as a dual threat quarterback… Ran for 158 yards and threw for 132 yards in the game… Class 6A Player of the Year Candidate… Threw for 2,823 career yards while completing 65 percent of his passes… Went 117-of-164 for 1,746 yards and 17 TDs his senior season… Had 121 career carries for 828 yards and 10 TDs… Had 65 carries for 566 yards and six TDs his senior season… Also starred in basketball for Ramsay… Ranked the No. 85th prospect in the state of Alabama.
Personal: Baniko O’Shay Harley is the son of Esther Muhmoud… Birthday is Oct. 2… Has a younger brother, Deion’Ya… Earned a bachelor’s degree in human movement in May 2021… Pursuing a master’s degree in performance enhancement and coaching at Austin Peay.
