As a graduate student in 2021-22: Played in eight tournaments, registering 24 rounds, 21 counting towards the Govs final score … registered a scoring average of 74.88 with seven rounds under par … was the Govs top individual in two tournaments … began the season finishing 16th with a score of 218 at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational … earned a top ten finish, finishing tied for eighth at the Xavier Invitational with a final round score of 216 … led the Govs at the Sea Palms Invitational, posting a final round score of 219 to finish tied for 13th … had season-best score of 68 (-3) during the first round of the Xavier Invitational
As a senior in 2020-21: One of only two Governors to appear in all seven tournaments during the 2021 spring session… in a match play tune-up against Western Kentucky at Clarksville Country Club, cruised to a 5&3 win… opened play with a one-under 71 at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor in the season’s first stroke play tournament… tied for the team-high with 34 pars at the Southern Invitational… a 2&1 winner in the match play rematch at Western Kentucky… final-round 69 at the Big Blue Intercollegiate tied for the best of the day by an individual player and tied him for eighth overall; he led the Governors with nine birdies overall during the event… closed the Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championships with par on eight of the events final nine holes.
As a junior in 2019-20: Govs most reliable closer, averaging team-best 72.5 strokes in the third round… counted 16 of 18 rounds, with seven rounds at par or better… closed out the Sam Hall Intercollegiate with back-to-back 72s… earned OVC Men’s Golfer of the Week honors after placing 10th at the JT Poston Invitational, with a 206 (68-71-67), the best 54-hole mark for a Gov in 2019-20; knocked down an eagle in the final round on No. 8, which played as the third-hardest hole in the tournament… tied for 14th at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, posting improvements each round; he birdied four straight from No. 9-12 on the final day of competition… 2.83 strokes per hole on par-3 attempts at the Pinetree Intercollegiate, the second-best mark in the tournament… season ended with a final-round 69 at the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner, with Korte earning six birdies overall.
As a sophomore in 2018-19: Became the first Gov since Chris Baker in 2015 to earn All-OVC and All-Tournament honors in the same season… one of two Govs to appear in all 11 tournaments, including four top-10 outings… opened the season with a first-round 70 at the Golfweek Program Challenge en route to an even-par 216… led the way with a 142 (72-70) at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, tying for ninth… capped fall with a seventh-place finish at the Pinetree Intercollegiate… second-round 68 enabled him to open spring with a top-15 finish at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor (77-68-73—218)… season-best third-place finish at the Wofford Invitational, carding a 211 (69-68-74) to lead the Govs to runner-up honors… earned first career All-Tournament honor at the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championships, opening and closing with 69s to shoot 211 overall; he was five-under over the course of the tournament’s final 15 holes.
As a freshman in 2017-18: Talented newcomer carried on a family legacy with four top-10 finishes and appearances in all 12 tournaments as a freshman… earned All-OVC and All-Newcomer honors… opened his career with a sixth-place finish at the Murray State Invitational, shooting a two-under 211 (70-70-71)… closed fall on a tear with two top-10 finishes (sixth at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, fifth at the MTSU Intercollegiate) in the Governors final three tournaments… earned runner-up honors and his first career adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week honors after a nine-under 207 (70-70-67) at the Wofford Intercollegiate, becoming the first Governor freshman since 2013 to earn the league’s top weekly honor… brought his opening campaign to a close with a 13th-place finish at the 2018 OVC Men’s Golf Championships, shooting 221 (73-76-72).
Prior to Austin Peay:Â Made his name at McCracken County (Ky.) High School for Nick Mills, earning 2016 First-Team All-State honors with a 70.35 season average, including a low of 63... missed the top-10 in just two of 16 tournaments.
Personal:Â Son of Chuck and Beth Korte... has two brothers, Dustin and Dalton... Dustin played for the Govs from 2009-13 and represented Austin Peay at the 2013 NCAA Championships as an individual, while Dalton also played golf at Rend Lake College... born April 23... majoring in media technology.
