As a graduate student in 2022-23: Played in a pair of tournaments and two matches for the Governors… recorded a 79.86 stroke average and one counting score in the three rounds he played in APSU’s lineup… used a season-low 76 in the second round of the Georgia State Invitational to finish in 86th place with a score of 244 (82-76-86)… beat Murray State’s Derek Limberg, 3&2, in the Battle of the Border Match Play… played as an individual and shot an eight-over 80 in a stroke-play match against UT Martin at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club.
As a redshirt senior in 2021-22: Competed in two tournaments, totaling six rounds with two counting for the Govs… finished tied for 63rd at the Xavier Invitational… shot a season-best round of 75 during the final round of the Xavier Invitational.
As a redshirt junior in 2020-21: Did not appear during the 2020-21 season due to injury.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2019-20: Competed twice as an individual at the Murray State Invitational and F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate… took part in the President’s Day Match Play Championship, picking up wins against Eastern Kentucky and Belmont.
As a sophomore in 2018-19: Injury robbed him of his sophomore campaign.
As a freshman in 2017-18: Made nine appearances, including four times in the lineup, as a freshman… notched a 19th-place finish at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate as an individual, shooting 222 (73-72-77) to earn a spot in the lineup the following week at Samford… in the lineup for the Govs team victory at the Fort Lauderdale Intercollegiate, finishing with a 234 (78-83-73)… on an off-week for the Govs, he went to the Phoenix Invitational as an individual and walked away with runner-up honors with a one-over 143 (71-72) from Old Hickory Country Club.
Prior to Austin Peay: Class A/AA Region 4 champion in 2016 and earned runner-up honors at the state level for Goodpasture Christian School... member of the 2016 Tennessee Junior Cup West Team, he won the 2015 Craig Goodman Rudolph Memorial and also earned the Goodman Award, given to the golfer who displays outstanding sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct throughout the tournament, at the same event... came in at No. 26 in the state of Tennessee in the most recent National Junior Golf Scoreboard (NJGS) rankings.
Personal: Jay Russell Fox is the son of John and Marcia Fox… born Feb. 23… graduated from Austin Peay with a bachelor’s in finance in the winter of 2020… is now pursuing a master’s in management.
