As a graduate student in 2022-23: Played in nine tournaments and both matches in his final season as a Governor… ranked fourth on the team with a 73.86 stroke average with 26 of his 28 rounds played counting toward the team score… was tied for the team lead with four rounds in the 60s and ranked third on the team with 10 rounds at even or under par… led the Govs in second-round scoring with a 72.22 stroke average… used a season-low, three-under 69 in the third round to finish the season-opening GolfWeek Fall Challenge tied for 38th place with a score of 218 (77-72-69)… finished tied for 22nd place with a score of 221 (77-71-73) at the Xavier Invitational… shot a three-under 69 to lead the Governors to a stroke-play match win against UT Martin at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club… shot a five-over 221 (74-71-76) to finished tied for 24th place at the Ernie Denham Classic… tallied an opening-round, two-under 69 at the Big Blue Intercollegiate en route to a 23rd-place finish and a score of 214 (69-70-75)… carded another season-low, three-under 69 in the second round of the ASUN Men’s Golf Championship, he finished the tournament tied for 33rd with a score of 21 (71-69-72).
As a senior in 2021-22: Played in a team-high nine tournaments… led the Govs and ranked 14th in the OVC with a 73.96 stroke average… played 27 rounds with all but one counting towards Austin Peay’s team score… collected a team-best nine rounds under par and one round in the 60s… was the Govs best individual player in four of the 10 tournaments… posted his first top-five of the season when he finished tied for fifth with a score of 212 at SIUE’s Derek Dolenc Invitational… posted his best finish of the season at the Xavier Invitational, finishing tied for second with a score of 214… shot a season-low 68 in the final round of the Xavier Invitational… led the Govs, finishing tied for 10th overall at the OVC Championships with a three-round score of 224… became the 10th Gov in the past 11 seasons to finish in the top 10 at the OVC Championships.
As a junior in 2020-21: Made lone appearance during his debut season at the Murray State Invitational, shooting a 228 (77-74-77) as an individual… led the tournament in par-3 scoring at 2.75 strokes per hole.
Prior to Austin Peay: Earned three top-five finishes in nine events as a freshman at Iowa Western CC, including the Derek Dolenc Invitational against a host of Division I competitors... as a freshman, finished 56th at the 2019 NJCAA National Championships... last fall, helped the Reivers secure two wins, while personally securing an 11th-place showing at the Tabor Invitational... as a prep, was a five-time All-State competitor at Red River High School, closing out his career with three straight top-three finishes in the North Dakota Class A State Championships and a win in 2018 as a senior... followed that up by winning the North Dakota State Stroke Play Championship in 2018 before heading off to Council Bluffs. Last summer, he placed third in the North Dakota State Stroke Play Championship and fifth in the state match play event.
Personal: Adam Matthew Van Raden is the son of Ron Van Raden and Julie Scholler… has a sister, Rachel Van Raden… born Dec. 15… graduated from Austin Peay with a bachelor’s in finance in the spring of 2022… is now pursuing a master’s in leadership.
