Career Recap: Austin Peay

As a graduate in 2023-24

  • A first team All-ASUN selection, the ASUN Scholar Athlete of the Year, and an Academic All-ASUN honoree. 
  • Went 18-11 overall in singles play, with an 11-5 record from the second court.
  • Had a 11-8 spring record and a 7-3 fall record. 
  • Went 8-2 in ASUN play, winning six of her last nine matches.
  • Compiled a 13-7 overall doubles record, with a 9-5 spring record and a 4-2 fall record.
  • Had a 9-5 record from the second court and a 5-2 ASUN record. 

As a redshirt junior in 2022-23:

  • Went 16-5 in singles play, with seven victories coming from the No. 1 position, where she played the final 12 matches of the season.
  • Opened her redshirt junior campaign on the No. 2 singles court, where she won each of her first four matches.
  • Had her second five-match winning streak of the season to end the nonconference slate, Feb. 23-March12, with each victory coming in straight sets. 
  • After dropping her first two matches of ASUN Conference play, rallied to win four-straight three-set decisions, March 25-April 6.
  • Went 15-6 in doubles play, playing exclusively alongside Melody Hefti from the No. 1 position. 
  • The duo won four of their first five matches of the season, allowing more than three games just once during that span.
  • Won 5-of-6 doubles matches, Feb. 23-March 17.
  • Finished the end of conference play winning four-straight matches, including a 6-4 victory against No. 75 Florida Gulf Coast.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2021-22:

Spring Season

  • Named the No. 5 player on the 2022 OVC Women’s Tennis Preseason Top-10 List.
  • Won 10 singles and 10 doubles matches, finishing tied for second on the team in combined victories.
  • After dropping her first five singles matches, won 10 of her last 12 matches, including six of seven conference matches while exclusively playing the No. 2 position.
  • Won seven-straight matches from March 8 to April 15, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory against the OVC Co-Player of the Year in SIUE’ Jill Lambrechts, April 10.
  • Paired with Danielle Morris in doubles over the last-half of the season, finishing with the highest winning percentage among Governors’ pairings (.800 percent), winning eight of 10 matches including five of seven OVC matches.
  • Became the fourth player in program history to receive a pair of First Team All-OVC selections in her first two full seasons. 
  • Improved her conference singles record to 13-1, the best mark by a Governor through their first two full seasons since 2011.

Spring Season

  • Went 6-2 singles and 5-2 doubles through four fall tournaments – tied for the second-most wins on the team in each category.
  • Defeated UT Martin’s Amelia Campbell 6-2, 6-3 in first singles match of the fall, sparking three-match singles winning streak. 
  • Won first two doubles matches of the fall alongside freshman Denise Torrealba.
  • Advanced to the Main Draw Doubles Round of 32 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ohio Valley Regionals with doubles partner Honoka Nakanishi after defeating IUPUI’s Krystal Grubb and Gabrielle Ochalik, 8-2.
  • Posted a perfect 4-0 record at the UNA Fall Invitational after picking up a pair of singles and doubles victories against both West Alabama and North Alabama.

As a redshirt freshman in 2020-21:

Spring Season

  • Named the No. 7 player on the 2021 OVC Women’s Tennis Preseason Top-10 List.
  • Led the Governors for the second-straight year in singles wins with 12, all from the No. 3 position.
  • After dropping two of her first three singles matches, finished with 11-straight victories en route to being named the OVC Co-Freshman of the Year and First Team All-OVC.
  • Went 8-5 in doubles, with a 7-4 mark alongside Aleks Topalovic in the No. 2 position.
  • Finished conference play with a perfect 8-0 record in singles, winning her final four OVC doubles matches as well.

As a freshman in 2019-20:

Spring Season

  • Joined the Govs in January following the fall season.
  • Led the Governors with 10 singles wins in the shortened season, winning nine times from the No. 3 line and once from the No. 2 line.
  • Rattled off ten-straight singles wins to begin her Austin Peay career.
  • Played exclusively with Danielle Morris in doubles action, posting a 6-4 mark from the No. 1 position.

Prior to Austin Peay
Won the the South-German Championship and the Badischer Championship, during her prep career at Gymnasium Remchingen... advanced to both the singles and doubles quarterfinals at the German Championships... helped Gymnasium Remchingen recieve a promotion to the German Regionalliga during her time there... also played soccer in high school.

Daughter of Kerstin and Volker Leder... born January 10... a Management major.
