As a sophomore in 2022-23: Played in all 10 tournaments and both matches for the Governors… posted a 72.39 stroke average with 29 of his 31 rounds played counting toward the team score – both marks ranked second on the team… carded a team-best 17 rounds at even or under par and was tied for the team lead with four rounds in the 60s… also led the Govs in third-round scoring with a 71.90 stroke average… paced the Governors in the season-opening tournament, finishing tied for 19th after shooting a three-under 291 (71-75-67) at the GolfWeek Fall Challenge… shot a career-low 66 in the second round of the Xavier Invitational en route to a career-best third-place finish with a score of 212 (74-66-71)… beat Murray State’s Kamaren Cunningham 2&1 in the Battle of the Border Match Play… carded another top-10 finish when he shot a 217 (70-75-72) and finished tied for ninth at the Mickey Mouse Intercollegiate… shot a two-under 70 to help the Govs beat UT Martin in a stroke-play match at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club… led the Governors and finished tied for ninth at the Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate after shooting a three-under 213 (71-72-70)… paced the Govs with a two-under 214 (69-73-72) and a fifth-place finished at the Ernie Denham Classic… closed the season with one-over 217 and a 52nd-place finish at the ASUN Men’s Golf Championship.
As a freshman in 2021-22: Played in five tournaments with eight of his 13 rounds being counted…. posted a stroke average of 75.08, which ranked 30th in the OVC… Shot a season-best 219 in his collegiate debut at the EKU Fall Invitational… posted two rounds under par, with the first being a season-best 70 in the second round of Chattanooga’s Battle at Black Creek… carded his second round under par when he shot a 71 in the opening round of the MU Tiger Invitational… finished tied for 17th at the OVC Championships, posting his best finish of the year in the final event of the season.
Prior to Austin Peay: A five-year letterman at The Webb School of Knoxville with three career top-10 finishes in the TSSAA Division II State Championships, including an eighth-place showing as an eighth-grader in 2016 and a third-place showing in his most recent state title appearance in October… a two-time Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State selection… won a region title in 2019 and was a Five-Star Preps First-Team All-State selection, in addition to being named a Knox News All-PrepXtra boys golf team for the 2019 season… Knox News additionally named him a Golfer to Watch for the 2020-21 year… outside of his work at Webb, was the 2019 Sneds Tour Player of the Year and 2020 Sneds Tour and Golf House Tennessee Spirit of Golf Award Winner, an award created to honor those juniors who not only have exceptional golf skill, but also embody what the game of golf is about… finished third as an individual at the 2020 Tennessee Junior PGA Tour Championship, thanks to a final-round 69, and was a two-time member of Team East in the Tennessee Junior Cup in 2018 and 2019.
Personal: Reece Andrew Britt is the son of Rob and Liz Britt… has two siblings, Robbie and Rachel… his brother, Robbie, played baseball at Maryville College and is now the head baseball coach at Eastern Michigan… born July 4… a communication media major with a concentration in sports communication.
