2024: Appeared in 10 games with eight starts at running back… Started in the season-opener at Louisville (Aug. 31), where he had 23 yards on seven carries and a season-high three receptions… Had eight carries for 29 yards and a season-high 27 receiving yards against Southern Illinois (Sept. 7)… Recorded his first of six double-digit carry games at Central Arkansas with 11 rushes for 57 yards… Posted his season’s best performance with 142 yards and three rushing touchdowns – tied for the third-most in a single game in program history – on just eight carries against Alabama A&M (Sept. 21), earning him Tennessee Sports Writers Association Football Offensive Player of the Week after becoming the first Governor with a trio of rushing scores since Mike DiLiello in 2022... Had touchdowns of 53 and 67 yards against AAMU, making him the first Governor with multiple 50-yard rushing scores in a game since Brian Sneed against Tennessee State in 2021… Carried the ball a season-high 17 times for 140 yards, including a season-long 72-yard carry, against Southern Utah (Sept. 28)… Had 25 yards and a touchdown against Tarleton State (Oct. 26)… Matched his season high with 17 carries in a 66-yard outing against Abilene Christian (Nov. 9) while adding his fifth rushing score of the season… Carried the ball 12 times for 50 yards in the season finale against Chattanooga (Nov. 23)… Led the team with 115 carries, 609 rushing yards, and five rushing touchdowns.

Prior to Austin Peay: Spent three seasons at Kentucky (2021-23), appearing in 17 games at running back. 2023: Missed the 2023 season due to injury. 2022: Played in all 13 games for the Wildcats as a redshirt freshman… Had three carries for 10 yards and one reception for 13 yards in the season opener against Miami (OH) (Sept. 13)… Rushed a career-high 11 times for 27 yards at No. 12 Florida (Sept. 10)… Totaled eight carries for a season-high 33 yards at No. 3 Tennessee (Oct. 29)… Rushed once for six yards and caught two passes for six yards in the 2022 TransPerfect Music City Bowl against Iowa (Dec. 31)… Finished the season with 39 carries for 130 yards and six receptions for 28 yards. 2021: Played in four games and used a redshirt during his true freshman season… Made his collegiate debut in the season opener against Louisiana-Monroe (Sept. 4)… Carried the ball six times for a career-best 75 yards, including a career-long 52-yard rush, against New Mexico State (Oct. 20)… Had three carries for 43 yards, including a 41-yard touchdown – his first collegiate touchdown – against Louisville (Nov. 27)… Finished the season with nine carries for 118 yards and a touchdown.

High School: Played running back for head coach Brent Thompson at North Hardin High School… Rushed for 4,296 yards and 56 touchdowns in addition to recording 1,316 receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns during his prep career… In the shortened 2020 season, he totaled 884 yards and 11 touchdowns in just seven games en route to being named the Kentucky Football Coaches Association Class 6A Player of the Year and a First Team All-State selection by the Louisville Courier-Journal… Was also named to the Lexington Herald-Leader’s “Class of the Commonwealth” list… Recorded 1,189 yards and 25 touchdowns while averaging 7.0 yards per carry as a junior in 2019, earning Second Team All-State honors from the Louisville Courier-Journal… Also rushed for 1,819 yards and 17 touchdowns as a sophomore… Rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and Rivals.

Personal: La’Vell Comer Wright is the son of Theodore and Latarsha Wright… Birthday is Dec. 1… Has 10 siblings: Miracle, Maddison, Aariana, Tajiah, Heaven, Angle, Quantell, Elijah, Easton, and Drevon… Graduated from Kentucky in May 2024 with a bachelor’s in communications and a minor in coaching… Pursuing a master’s in business administration.
