2021 (Graduate Student): Capped off Austin Peay career with best season as a Governor, starting all 11 games at tailback and posting career-best stats across the board… Kicked off graduate year with 19 carries for 104 and one catch for a four-yard receiving touchdown at Chattanooga (Sept. 2)… Carried the ball 18 times for 70 yards at Ole Miss (Sept. 11)… Had first of five multi-touchdown performances against Morehead State (Sept. 18) with 84 rushing yards on 17 carries… Followed up the performance against the Eagles with 110 all-purpose yards on 22 touches and a pair of rushing scores at Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 25)… Found paydirt twice against Southeast Missouri (Oct. 9), adding 63 yards on the ground… Had a career outing at Murray State (Oct. 23) with 134 rushing yards on 21 carries and a career-best three scores on the ground… Had 93 yards and two touchdowns in his final game as a Gov against Tennessee Tech (Nov. 20), including a career-long 57-yard run late in the fourth quarter against the Golden Eagles… Led the Govs with 180 carries for 801 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns – which is tied with Kentel Williams (2019) as the sixth-best single-season mark in program history… In his fifth year, set career-high marks in rushes, rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, rushing yards per game (72.8) and all-purpose yards (853)… Finished his career with the seventh-most rushing yards (2,529) in program history, he is one of just nine Govs to rush for 2,000-yards in a career… Is tied with Austin Peay Hall of Famer John Ogles for the third-most rushing touchdowns in school history and is tied with Hall of Famer Terrence Holt for the fifth-most touchdowns scored in school history.
2020-2021 (Senior): Played in five games during the spring, totaling 283 yards on the ground and three touchdowns... After combining for 55 yards against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 21) and Southeast Missouri (March 14), rushed for a then career-high 105 yards against UT Martin (March 21)... Punched in a one-yard touchdown run in the Govs’ 13-10 win at No. 7 Jacksonville State (March 28)… Rushed for a career-high 122 yards on 25 carries and a touchdown against Murray State (April 3).
2019 (Junior): Appeared in 13 games, finishing season with 408 rushing yards and five touchdowns… Began season with Govs lone rushing touchdown against North Carolina Central (Aug. 29), finishing with 12 carries for 66 yards… With Kentel Williams unavailable against Southeast Missouri (Oct. 12), stepped up and scored three times, running for two touchdowns in a 76-yard day and catching a 23-yard touchdown pass… Also ran for touchdowns at both Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 2) and Murray State (Nov. 16).
2018 (Sophomore): Played in 10 games with six starts on the season… finished third on the team in rushing yards with 339 on 76 carries… had season-highs in carries (17) and yards (98) against Presbyterian (Sept. 8)… also chipped in a 40-yard reception to finish with 138 yards from scrimmage against PC… had 12 carries for 51 yards and his lone touchdown of the season against Tennessee State (Oct. 6)… rushed for 48 yards on eight carries at Southeast Missouri (Oct. 13)… had 12 carries for 49 yards at Eastern Illinois (Nov. 10).
2017 (Freshman): Exploded onto the scene as a true freshman, leading the Govs in rushing yards (698) and rushing touchdowns (8)… named to the OVC All-Newcomer Team… took on a larger role out of the backfield against Murray State (Sept. 23), with 16 carries for 70 yards… followed that up with 13 carries for 90 yards against UT Martin… recorded at least one touchdown in the final six games of the season… had 105 yards and touchdown at Tennessee Tech (Nov. 4)… closed out the year with 95 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries against Eastern Illinois.
High School: Four-year letter winner at Dalton High School… Had more than 3,000 career rushing yards and 50 rushing touchdowns… Ran for 1,560 yards and 23 touchdowns his senior season… Named the 2016 Georgia Class 6A Player of the Year… Named the Daily Citizen All-Area Player of the Year… Led his team to the Region 6-6A Championship and finished runner up in the state of Georgia… Ranked a two-star prospect from 247sports.com.
Personal: Ahmaad Jarrel Tanner is the son of Kimberly Tanner and Jamaal Brummitt… Birthday is Jan. 14… has four siblings Jabari, Ja’onna, Mayah, Jemel… A marketing major… Pursuing a master’s degree in strategic leadership at Austin Peay.
