2023: Missed the 2023 season due to injury.

Prior to Austin Peay: Played three seasons at Jones College (2020-22) in Mississippi. 2022: Played in 10 games and made 32 catches for a team-best 582 yards and eight touchdowns… Ranked seventh in touchdowns, 18th in receiving yards, and 32nd in touchdowns at the NJCAA Division I level… Had a career-best two touchdown grabs against Itawamba (Sept. 1) and Southwest Mississippi (Oct. 13)… Also had a career-long 61-yard touchdown catch against Southwest Mississippi… Earned Second Team All-Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference honors. 2021: Recorded 17 receptions for 136 yards and a touchdown in 10 appearances… Posted his first collegiate touchdown on a seven-yard grab against Mississippi Gulf Coast (Oct. 21). 2020: Played in five games during the COVID-shortened season… Recorded 12 catches for 131 yards… Also added one kick return for 19 yards.

High School: A wide receiver for coach Tyler Peterson at Brandon High School… Earned Mississippi All-State honors as a senior after recording 66 receptions for 1,196 yards and 14 touchdowns – he led Class 6A Region 3 in receiving yards… Averaged 18.1 yards per catch and led the Bulldogs to a 9-5 mark in 2019… Posted a career-best 270 receiving yards and two touchdowns against Oak Grove (Oct. 24, 2019)… Represented Mississippi in the 2019 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game… Had 53 receptions for 626 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior while helping Brandon to a 13-2 record… Also participated in track and field where he competed in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4x100 meter relay, 4x200 meter relay, high jump, and long jump… Was a part of 4x100 meter (42.52) and 4x200 meter (1:28.71) relay teams that posted the second and fourth best times, respectively, in Brandon history… Ran the ninth-fastest 100 meters in school history with a time of 11.33.

Personal: Ashton Jamal Nickelberry is the son of Raymond and Ashleigh Nickelberry… Birthday is Sept. 8… Has three siblings: Adelynn, Rylan, and Josh… A health and human performance major with a sport and wellness specialist concentration.
