2024: Started all 12 games for the Governors at center… One of two offensive linemen and five players to start every game… Blocked for an offense that rushed for 311 yards and five touchdowns against Alabama A&M (Sept. 21), the program’s most rushing yards and touchdowns since 2023… The Governors also had a pair of running backs eclipse 100 rushing yards against the Bulldogs for the first time since 2023… Provided protection for an offense that set the APSU single-game completion percentage record (.886) with the fourth-most passing yards (406) and the sixth-most completions in a single game (31) at North Alabama (Nov. 2)… Helped block for an offense that posted the second-highest completion percentage in program history (.618), the eighth-most yards of total offense (4,116), and the fifth-most completions (217) in a single season... Was called for just one holding penalty and gave up just one sack on the season... Was the 2024 UAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a 2024 Stats Perform Doris Robinson Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award Finalist, a 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy Semifinalist, and a 2024 FCS Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team selection.
2023: A First Team All-UAC selection, he started all 12 games on the offensive line with 11 starts at right guard and one start at center… Made his collegiate debut at center against Tennessee (Sept. 9) in Neyland Stadium… Helped the Governors offense total 612 yards of total offense – the 10th-best single-game mark in program history and score 63 points – tied for the sixth-best single-game total in APSU history – against ETSU (Sept. 16)… The Govs offense also set the single-game passing yards record with 441 yards against ETSU… Blocked for an offense that posted 690 yards of total offense – the third-best single game in APSU history – with 420 passing yards – the fourth-best game in program history – against Lindenwood (Sept. 30)… Provided protection for an offense that passed for a program-record six touchdowns and recorded a 267.1 passing efficiency rating – second-best in program history – against North Alabama (Oct. 28)… Blocked for an offense that ranked ninth in the FCS and led the UAC in scoring (34.1 ppg), the Govs also ranked 14th in total offense (426.8) and 13th in passing offense (247.1) while ranking second in the UAC in both those categories… Helped the Austin Peay offense rank 12th in the FCS and second in the UAC in red zone offense (.897)… Contributed to an offense that set the APSU single-season records in completion percentage (66.7), passing efficiency (162.2), passing offense, and total offense per game… The Govs also had the second-best single-season marks in passing yards (3,289), passing touchdowns (30), total offense (5,121), points (409), and touchdowns (53).
2022: A HERO Sports Freshman All-America and All-ASUN Conference selection who started all 11 games for the Govs at right guard… Helped the Governors offense rack up 609 yards of total offense and score 63 points – tied for the sixth-best single-game total in APSU history – against Presbyterian (Sept. 3)… Helped the Govs throw for 383 yards and five touchdowns against Mississippi Valley State (Sept. 10) – the fourth and second-best single-game totals in program history… Blocked for an offense that recorded 4,662 yards of total offense and scored 347 points during the 2022 season – the third and fourth-best season totals in Austin Peay history… Also helped the Govs average 423.8 yards of total offense per game – the second-best single-season mark in program history… The Govs posted the sixth-most rushing touchdowns (20) and fifth-most passing touchdowns (22) in a season in program history.… Helped the offense pass for 2,580 yards – the fifth-best single-season in APSU history – and rush for 2,082 yards, it was the first time in program history the Govs have passed and rushed for 2,000-plus yards in the same season.
2021: Played in three games for the Governors during the 2021 season… Made collegiate debut against Morehead State (Sept. 18).
High School: An offensive lineman for Kevin Brown at Duncan U. Fletcher High School… A two-time honorable mention Florida Class 7A All-State pick by FloridaHSFootball.com (2019 and 2020).
Personal: Chandler Hampton Kirton is the son of Kelly and Chad Kirton… Birthday is Feb. 14… Has two siblings, Donovan and Ashton… Mother, Kelly, played volleyball at North Florida… Graduated from Austin Peay in Dec. 2024 with a bachelor’s in management... Pursuing a master’s in business administration.
