Chad Creamer

  • Title
    Graduate Assistant-Defense

Chad Creamer came to Austin Peay as a graduate assistant last spring after spending three years at Ohio State as a student assistant. Creamer is assisting Dainon Sidney with the Governors’ secondary. He also will assist in post-game video breakdown.

In a sense, Creamer’s calling as a coach came early. After playing four seasons as a safety at Greenview High School in Jamestown, Ohio, he bypassed a chance to play college football to become involved in the Ohio State program.

Creamer started in the weight room, moved to working with the defensive backs and spent his final year helping one of the nation’s most respected defensive coordinators, Jim Heacock. His assignment included working with the defensive line during that two-year timeframe.

Creamer got a keen insight into one of the nation’s top football programs and brings that knowledge and experience to Austin Peay.
Many people see the end result of all the work procured during the week of practices and meetings once the team hits the field on game day.

But Creamer’s work allowed him to be an insider and gave him an up-close look at how Ohio State prepares for games week to week. Game day saw him working both from the field in 2007 and then the coaches box in 2008.
