Josh Roberts

Josh Roberts is in his fourth season with the Governors football program.

He returned to his hometown in 2006 to serve as a graduate assistant, coaching the running backs. He since has been elevated into fulltime coaching status working with the running backs. He also helps organizing team travel.

Roberts came to APSU after a strong football career at Lambuth where he played three offensive positions–fullback, tight end and H-back, lettering all four seasons. Known as an outstanding blocking back, his best two seasons came in 2003, when he caught 10 passes for 148 yards, and in 2004, when he hauled in 11 passes for 88 yards.

At Lambuth, Roberts was honored with the Athletic Committee Sportsmanship Award. He also served as a male student athlete representative to  Lambuth’s athletic committee.  Roberts was named to Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities.

In addition, he served as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Leader.

The Northeast High School graduate played linebacker and tight end for the Eagles, earning all-area, all-region and all-state honors as a senior.
