Leron Eaddy

Leron Eaddy followed Kirby Cannon to Austin Peay to play his final competitive season for his former position coach after Cannon was named head coach in Spring 2013 and enters his second season on Austin Peay’s coaching staff.

Eaddy works with Austin Peay’s cornerbacks, and in his first season helped Roderick Owens (47 total tackles, three interceptions, six passes defensed) post career-best numbers for Austin Peay.

The Clarksville, Md. native, Eaddy, played three seasons for Cannon at Central Michigan after redshirting in 2009. He came to APSU having played in 30 career Central Michigan games, including one start. He was credited with 31 career tackles, including 28 over the last two seasons (2012-13). He had his only Chippewas interception against Ohio in 2011 while also recording FBS best seven tackles against Michigan State that season.

Eaddy redshirted in 2009 at Central Michigan career because of an injury. As a result, he joined APSU for his fifth and final eligibility year with a degree in hand. After playing 30 games for Central Michigan, he moved into the Govs’ starting lineup at safety and was the team’s third-leading tackler (60). He was credited with a season-best nine tackles at Eastern Kentucky and grabbed his only interception against Chattanooga.

A three-year letterman at River Hill High School, Eaddy was a three-time all-conference selection and two-time first-team Associated Press All-State selection. He led River Hill to back-to-back undefeated seasons and Class 2A state titles in 2007 and 2008. In fact, River Hill finished the 2008 season ranked No. 23 nationally in USA Today’s Super 25 rankings.

He was credited with a career 15 sacks and 225 tackles, including 89 as a senior, and eight interceptions. He competed in the 2008 Maryland Crab Bowl All-Star Game.
