Ryan Stanchek joined Scotty Walden’s staff at Austin Peay as its co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in February 2022.

Before coming to Austin Peay, Stancheck spent a season at Florida A&M as co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach after spending two seasons with Walden as the offensive line coach at Southern Miss.

Prior to joining the Southern Miss staff, Stanchek was a member of the Alcorn State coaching staff for five seasons (2014-18), beginning as an offensive line coach before earning a promotion to run-game coordinator in 2016 and ultimately offensive coordinator for the 2018 season.

During Stanchek’s time in Alcorn, the Braves won the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s East Division title five times, the SWAC Championship three times, played in the Celebration Bowl three times, and won the SBN Sports Black College Football National Championship in 2014.

At Alcorn State, Stancheck had 13 offensive linemen placed on the SWAC’s All-Conference teams in five years. He also mentored eight HBCU All-Americans during his tenure including Chris McCrea, Kevin Hall, Mustaffa Ibrahim, Isaac Sampson, Isekelli Ongosia, Detonio Dade, Timothy Gardner, and Kenyon Brantley.

Stanchek began his coaching career as an offensive quality control assistant at Florida State in 2010 before spending three seasons as a graduate assistant at Indiana.

Stanchek and his wife Jessica have a daughter, Bella Sky, and a son, Skyler.

Austin Peay (2022)

2022: Named the Governors co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach prior to the beginning of spring practice.

FLORIDA A&M (2021)

2021: During his lone season in Tallahassee, Stanchek served as the co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, helping lead Florida A&M to its first FCS Playoff appearance since 2001. The Rattlers’ offense ranked among the FCS Top 50 in total offense (44th, 380.9 yards per game), rushing offense (41st, 159.2 ypg), and scoring offense (47th, 27.8 points per game); with the offensive line allowing the 17th fewest sacks (1.25 per game). Running back Bishop Bennett and offensive lineman Keenan Forbes earned First Team All-SWAC after the 2021 season with offensive lineman Jay Jackson nabbing second-team honors..

SOUTHERN MISS (2019-20)

2020: Led an o-line group that paved the way for freshman running back Frank Gore Jr. to rush for 708 yeads – the most yards by any freshman in the C-USA and the seventh-most in the league – and earn Second Team All-Conference USA and C-USA All-Freshman team honors.

2019: Coached an offensive line that allowed Walden’s offense to post 289.5 passing yards per game – the 19th-best mark in the NCAA and the top mark in C-USA. Quarterback Jack Abraham threw for 3,496 yards – the 18th-most in the NCAA – with wide receiver Quez Watkins accounting for 1,178 of those yards – the 17th-most in the NCAA. Watkins earned First Team All-Conference USA honors, with offensive lineman Drake Dorbeck – who earned the Kent Hull Award for the top collegiate offensive lineman in Mississippi – and Coker Wright garnering Second Team All-Conference USA and C-USA All-Freshman team honors, respectively.

ALCORN STATE (2014-18)

2018: Promoted to offensive coordinator prior to the season, helping the Braves to their fifth-straight SWAC East Division Champion, before winning the SWAC title and falling to North Carolina A&T, 24-22, in the Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl. In his first season leading the offense, Stancheck coached the eighth-best rushing offense (285.8 ypg) and 24th-best scoring offense (32.6 ppg) in the FCS. Alcorn State had five First Team and Two Second team All-SWAC honorees on the offensive side of the ball, with quarterback Noah Johnson earning SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and running back De’Shawn Waller earning SWAC Newcomer of the Year. A STATS FCS All-America Third Team selection Waller, along with offensive lineman Chris McCrea, Kevin Hall, and Mustaffa Ibrahim, earned HBCU All-America honors.

2017: Stanchek’s first season as run-game coordinator saw Alcorn State lead the FCS in yards per carry (6.42) while ranking in the top-10 in both rushing offense (237.4 ypg) and total offense (461.3 ypg) – they also led the SWAC in all three categories. Senior running back De’Lance Turner set the school’s single-season rushing record with 1,357 yards, which was also good for the second-best mark in the FCS that season. Turner, along with offensive linemen Timothy Gardner and Kenyon Bradley – both were HBCU All-America selections – earned First Team All-SWAC honors with o-lineman Mustaffa Ibrahim picking up second-team honors. Turner earned Associated Press Third Team All-America recognition and was an HBCU All-America Honorable Mention.

2016: The Braves rushed for over 155 yards in 10 of their 11 games, including at No. 20 Arkansas. Alcorn State racked up at least 255 yards on the ground in four of their last five games en route to posting the FCS’s 17th-best rushing offense (212 ypg) and the ninth-fewest sacks allowed (13). Offensive linemen Detonio Dade and Timothy Gardner were Second Team All-SWAC selections.

2015: Led an offensive line that cleared the way for the FCS’s fifth-best rushing offense (293.4 ypg). Running backs Darryan Ragsdale (7.63 ypc) and Lenorris Footman (7.41 ypc) ranked fourth and fifth, respectively, in the FCS in yards per carry. Detonio Dade and Isekelli Ongosia earned First Team All-SWAC honors on the offensive line.

2014: In his first season leading the offensive line, the Braves posted the FCS’s fifth-best rushing offense (285.2 ypg) and the third-fewest sacks (0.54 per game) en route to winning their first SWAC Championship in 20 yards and the SBN Sports Black College Football National Championship. Quarterback John Gibbs, Jr. led the FCS in rushing yards per carry (7.38) en route to earning SWAC Co-Offensive Player of the Year. Gibbs and offensive lineman Isaac Sampson both earned First Team All-SWAC, HBCU All-America, and BSN FCS All-America Third Team honors, while offensive lineman Detonio Dade earned Second Team All-SWAC recognition..

INDIANA (2011-13)

2011-13: As a graduate assistant, worked with the Hoosiers offensive line.

FLORIDA STATE (2010)

2010: Assisted with the Seminole’s offensive line as an offensive quality control coach.

PROFESSIONAL PLAYING CAREER (2009-10)

Signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2009 before playing for the Arena Football League’s Cleveland Gladiators in 2010.

COLLEGIATE PLAYING CAREER (2004-09)

A two-time All-American as an offensive lineman at West Virginia, Stanchek started 48 consecutive games in Morgantown. He helped the Mountaineers win four bowl games in four years, including the 2006 Sugar Bowl and 2008 Fiesta Bowl, and Big East Conference titles twice (2005 and 2007). Stanchek was also awarded the Red Brown Cup at WVU which went to the school’s Male Student-Athlete of the Year based on athletic, academic, and civil achievement. A Cincinnati native, Stanchek earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from West Virginia and was a three-time Big East Academic All-Star.
