2023: Played in all 12 games and made five starts on the defensive line… Had a season-best four tackles and a pass breakup in his Austin Peay debut at Southern Illinois (Sept. 2)… Added three tackles at Stephen F. Prior to Austin Peay: Played four seasons at Incarnate Word (2019-22) where he made 43 appearances for the Cardinals. 2022: Appeared in all 14 games while helping UIW go 12-2, win the Southland Conference, and advance to the FCS Playoff Semifinals where they fell to No. 3 North Dakota State, 35-32… Had four tackles and a sack in the season opener against Southern Illinois (Sept. 3)… Recorded two tackles and a quarterback hurry against Lamar (Oct. 8)… Matched his season-high with four tackles while adding a career-best 2.5 tackles for loss against Faulkner (Oct. 22)… Had four tackles and a half tackle for loss in the regular-season finale against Northwestern State (Nov. 19)… Totaled four tackles in the FCS Playoff Quarterfinals against No. 2 Sacramento State (Dec. 9)… Had a tackle for loss and quarterback hurry against North Dakota State (Dec. 16)… Finished the season with 24 tackles while posting career-highs with 5.0 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. 2021: Appeared in 12 contests, helping UIW win another Southland Conference title… Had four tackles and a half tackle for loss to open the season against Youngstown State (Sept. 2)… Matched his career-high with five tackles against Prairie View A&M (Sept. 11) and Houston Baptist (Oct. 30)… Picked up three tackles and a tackle for loss in the rematch with Houston Baptist (Nov. 20)… Finished the season with a career-best 28 tackles. 2020: Made five appearances during the COVID-altered spring season… Had a career-best five tackles for the first time to go with a tackle for loss against McNeese State (Feb. 27)… Matched his career-high with five tackles and a half tackle for loss against Northwestern State (April 10)… Finished the season with 14 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss. 2019: Played in all 12 games for UIW during his true freshman campaign… Had a tackle in his collegiate debut against UT San Antonio (Aug. 31)… Had two tackles and half a sack against Texas Southern (Sept. 7)… Picked up three tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss against Nicholls State (Nov. 2)… Closed his freshman season with 16 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks.
High School: Played defensive line for head coach Dereck Rush at Oak Ridge High School… Recorded 48 tackles in three seasons for the War Eagles, including 21 tackles during his senior season… Was named a first team all-district defensive lineman during his junior campaign… Earned second team all-district honors during his sophomore year… Was also named a first team academic all-district honoree as a sophomore and junior.
Personal: Darius Michael Richmond is the son of Anthony and Rebekah Richmond… Birthday is Oct. 22… Has one sibling, Sofia, who plays beach volleyball at Tusculum University… Graduated from Incarnate Word in May 2023 with a bachelor’s in business management… Pursuing a master’s in management.
