2021 (Redshirt Junior): Played in nine games, with his four starts coming to start the year where he anchored the Governors’ offensive line at the left tackle position… In the home opener against Morehead State (Sept. 18), helped pave the way for a season-high 381 passing yards and four touchdowns through the air… Also helped the Govs tally the second-most rushing yards of the season with 199 yards and three ground scores against the Eagles.
2020-2021 (Redshirt Sophomore): Played in six games during the 2020-2021 season, including three starts at tackle during the fall and one in the spring... Got the starting nod against Murray State (April 3) and helped the Governors offense rack up a season-high 447 yards of total offense against the Racers.
2019 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in 12 games, making his Austin Peay debut at Mercer (Sept. 14)… appeared off the bench in the final eight games of the season, including all three FCS Playoff games… was a part of a Govs Offensive Lineman that allowed an OVC-low 14 sacks on the season.
2018 (Freshman): Redshirted in his first season.
High School: Played left tackle for Fred Yancey at Briarwood Christian High School… helped lead the team to a 14-1 record and state runner-up finish as a senior in 2017… also a part of 13-2 campaign… named an all-county and all-state performer in football… also competed in basketball and track and field… recorded a personal best of 47’9” in the shot put.
Personal: Garrett Dustin Bell is the son of Doug Bell… Birthday is Oct. 6… has two siblings: Brooks and Gabby… A broadcast media major with a minor in leadership science.
