2024: Appeared in 12 games and made three starts at linebacker… Made three tackles in each of his first two appearances of the season against Louisville (Aug. 31) and Southern Illinois (Sept. 7)… Made a season-high five tackles against Southern Utah (Sept. 28)… Had three tackles and a tackle for loss against at West Georgia (Oct. 5)… Had four tackles in three-straight games, including half a tackle for loss against Tarleton State (Oct. 26)… Matched his season-high with five tackles against Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 16), where he also recovered a fumble and broke up a pass… Finished the season with 35 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and a pass breakup.
2023: Played in all 12 games at linebacker… Recorded two tackles and a pass breakup in his collegiate debut at Southern Illinois (Sept. 2)… Had two tackles, a tackle for loss, and returned a fumble five yards for a touchdown – his first collegiate touchdown – against ETSU (Sept. 16)… Had a season-best nine tackles against Lindenwood (Sept. 30) to earn UAC Freshman of the Week honors… Added a tackles against North Alabama (Oct. 28)… Posted one tackle in the FCS Playoffs First Round against Chattanooga (Nov. 25)… Finished the season with 15 tackles, one tackle for loss, one fumble recovery, one pass breakup, and a defensive touchdown.
High School: A linebacker and running back for coach Todd Loveday at Sevier County High School… Was named the Sevier County Defensive Player of the Year in 2020 and 2021 by The Mountain Press… A two-time Region 2-AAAAA Linebacker of the Year selection, he holds the Sevier County career tackles record with 471 stops… Also added 23 tackles for loss, four sacks, and four interceptions en route to a trio of All-Region 2-AAAAA selections.
Personal: Garrett Blake Allen Hawkins is the son of Chris and Lori Hawkins… Birthday is Sept. 20… Has two siblings, Madison and Hudson… Father, Chris, played football at Austin Peay and ETSU… A management major.
