Biography

College: Returns as Governors starting quarterback for fourthstraight season...enters season in best shape of his career...owns quick release and strong throwing arm...enters final season already ranked in Top 10 on most APSU career passing lists...is fourth on all-time list for most passing attempts (592) and completions (292)...tied for fourth in most touchdown passes (20)...fifth all-time in passing yards (3,191) and yards per game (110.0)...also seventh all-time in total offensive yards (3,302)... injuries have interrupted last two seasons... Completed 23 of 46 passes for 205 yards and one TD against Eastern Illinois...Went 23-for-38 against Southeast Missouri throwing for a season high 304 yards. It was his first 300 yard game since Oct. 1, 2011 against Tennessee State where he threw for 314 yards... In game against Culver-Stockton, became just the second Governor quarterback to eclipse the 30 career passing touchdown mark... In game against Jacksonville State set Austin Peay single-game records for most passes attempted (60) and completions (41). Also threw for a career-high 375 yeads and completed passes to nine different recievers... In final game against Tennessee Tech threw for 310 yards which marked the third time in the season that Ryan threw for over 300 yards in a game. Also Ryan's four touchdown passes in the contest marked the first time an Austin Peay quarterback has accomplished the feat since Trent Caffee threw for four TD's versus Tennessee Tech on Oct. 25, 2008... Was named OVC Co-Offensive player of the week November 18, 2012....in 2011, was playing career's best football before suffering first-half knee injury against SEMO...missed second half of that game and next two contests...still his 136 pass completions ranked as seventh most in school history and his attempts (256) ranked tied for eighth while his yards (1,478) ranked 10th...threw for a career-high 245 yards and touchdown at Memphis...after throwing for career-high three TDs in home win vs. Eastern Kentucky, threw for 314 yards, completing 21 of 41 passes, against Tennessee State, another Govs' victory...completed 19 of 32 passes for 193 yards and three TDs vs. UT Martin...stumbled against JSU, tossing five interceptions in home loss...bounced back to complete 8-of-12 passes against SEMO before going down with knee injury...did play in final two games, but could not find earlier rhythm...in 2010, started 9 of 11 games in 2010, missing the last two contest with a thumb injury...finished season with 1,120 passing yard, completing 107 of 212 attempts...got off to strong start by throwing for then-career high 224 yards and two TDs against Middle Tennessee in Week 2...followed that up with 176 yards passing, including directing game-winning drive against Tennessee State...threw seven-yard TD pass to Adrian Mines with 40 seconds left to win contest...completed 17 of 25 passes (68 percent) and two scores two weeks later against Tennessee Tech...followed that up with 182-yard effort against Southeast Missouri...struggled down stretch, including injuring thumb in Week 9 against UT Martin...made brief appearance in both Murray State and Eastern Kentucky games...  In 2009, took the quarterback reins in Game 6 at Southeast Missouri...appeared sparingly in 2009's first five games... in six starts, completed 47 of 124 passes (37.9 percent) for 593 yards and one touchdown... at Southeast Missouri, completed 9 of 17 passes for 93 yards in first career start... helped Govs break a 22-game losing streak against Eastern Kentucky with a 24-20 win ... completed 3 of 7 passes, including his first career TD pass, a 45-yard strike to Adrian Mines... after struggling against Jacksonville State, rebounded with back-to-back 100-yard passing games... at Murray State, completed 14 of 25 for season-best 192 yards... led Govs to win against Tennessee State with strong clock management... used redshirt season in 2008 to learn offensive system plus gain strength and bulk to handle position's rigors... struggled during early stages of spring practice but came on rapidly during closing weeks...completed four-of-six passes for 90 yards and TD during Red-White game.

High School: Played quarterback for Scott Cummings at Knoxville West High School...two-time All-State quarterback... also named to All Prep Extra team twice as well as All-Knoxville Interscholastic League...earned all-region honors multiple times...played in the East-West All-Star game...as senior, passed for 2,430 yards and 21 touchdowns during the 2007 season....for career passed for more than 4,800 yards and 44 TDs.

Personal: Health specialization major...three-time member of Athletics Director's Honor Roll, including both semesters a year ago ...son of Pat and Debbie Ryan...father played quarterback in the NFL for 13 years, mostly with New York Jets, and later worked on Titans Radio Network...born Jan. 18, 1990...age 22.
