College: Incumbent strong safety coming off another fruitful campaign...finished eighth on team in tackles...got off to great start with 13 tackles over first two games...suffered nagging ankle injury during early part of 2007  season that affected play...was held out of UT Martin contest...ended strongly, collecting 24 tackles over final five games, including nine against Eastern Kentucky...followed that up with outstanding season finale at Murray State, intercepting two passes...returned one interception 44 yards...as junior in 2006, started all 11 games, finishing third on team in tackles...was tied for second on team in unassisted stops...picked off one pass, forced a fumble and recovered another...recorded season-best 11 tackles, including eight unassisted stops, against North Greenville...had nine stops in two other games and eight in two more...had 1.5 tackles for loss against UT Martin...tallied career’s first interception at Missouri-Rolla... enjoyed productive freshman season in 2005, being involved in 21 tackles in reserve role...also recovered one fumble and blocked a kick along the way...High School: Running back and safety for Tony Keeton at Nashville Christian School...earned all-region as senior...also was team offensive MVP...Personal:  Business management major...Athletics Director’s Honor Roll member during spring...son of Eric and Debbie Vanatta...born Feb. 11, 1987...age 21.
