Athletic Director's Honor Roll (S20, F20, S21, F21)

2021 (Graduate Student): A consensus All-American, First Team All-OVC selection, and the 2021 OVC Defensive Player of the Year… Led Austin Peay and ranked third in the OVC with 85 tackles (7.7 per game), his 51 solo stops were the second-best mark in the league… Started all 11 games… Had seven tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in season opener at Chattanooga (Sept. 2)… Had the first of three double-digit tackle performances at Ole Miss (Sept. 11), including a season-high eight solo tackles… Had 1.5 tackles for loss during an eight-tackle performance against Morehead State (Sept. 18)… Had nine tackles, including one for loss and a forced fumble against Southeast Missouri (Oct. 9)… Had a career outing at UT Martin (Oct. 30) with a 75-yard pick-six and a career-high 16 tackles – the most by a Governor since 2018… Picked off a pass against Eastern Illinois (Nov. 6), adding six tackles…. Made seven solo stops at Tennessee State (Nov. 13)… Had 11 tackles, including a season-high two tackles for loss, in the season finale against Tennessee Tech (Nov. 20)… Became just the third Gov to be named the OVC Defensive Player of the Year, joining Mike Betts (1978) and Bob Bible (1977).

2020-2021 (Redshirt Junior): Appeared in all nine games after transferring from Troy... Recorded four tackles and recovered a fumble in the season opener against Central Arkansas (Aug. 29)... Picked up his first career tackle for loss on the road at Pittsburgh (Sept. 12)… One of seven Governors to record a sack in the team’s record-setting seven-sack performance against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 21)... Had a season-high eight tackles against Murray State (March 3); also had a tackle for loss in the contest... finished the season with 36 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and two pass breakups.

Prior to Austin Peay: Attended Troy but did not play in 2019… Led Dodge City Community College with 81 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss as a sophomore… Intercepted a pass, broke up two passes, forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles… Finished his freshman season with 67 tackles, seven tackles for loss, a pass break up, a fumble recovery and three blocked punts.

High School: Was a safety for head coach Jason Dukes at Alcovy High School… Recorded 56 tackles, eight tackles for loss, a pair of interceptions, eight pass break ups and 305 all-purpose yards as a senior… Earned first team all-region and all-conference honors following his senior season… Also lettered in basketball and track for the Tigers… Rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.

Personal: Koby Lamar Perry has two children, Kali and Kalani Perry… The son of Atavia English and Ricky Vaughn… Birthday is Sept. 5… has eight siblings: Landes, Tray, Leah, Kentrail, Adarious, Kyrese, Brandon, and Tman… Earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in May 2021… Pursuing a master’s degree in general communication at Austin Peay.
