College: Again expected to serve as backup at quarterback in second Govs' season...has much better understanding of offense after serving as Jake Ryan's backup a year ago...game experience should have him better prepared to step in if situation arises...in 2011, played occasional series early in campaign...was forced in as starting quarterback in second half of Southeast Missouri game in Week 7...started next three games, completing 34 of 66 passes (51.5 percent) of passes over 3 1/2-game stretch but for only 281 yards...threw only TD pass, a 10-yard strike to Devin Stark, against Murray State.

High School: As senior for Hal Lamb at Calhoun High School, completed 173 of 266 yards (65 percent) for 2,560 yards, 32 TDs for 14-1 team, including 315-yard, four TD performance...named Associated Press Class AA Offensive Player of the Year...was selected first-team All-State by both the Associated Press and Atlanta Journal-Constitution...also was winning pitcher in Class AA baseball state title game as junior.
