2023: A Second Team All-UAC selection, he played in all 12 games at placekicker… Opened the season with a 29-yard field goal and went 2-for-3 on PATs against Southern Illinois (Sept. 2)… Hit a season-long 45-yard field goal and made a 34-yard kick to go 2-for-2 at Tennessee (Sept. 9)… Matched his career high and equaled the second-best single-game mark in APSU history by going a perfect 9-for-9 on PATs against ETSU (Sept. 16)… Hit a 28-yard field goal and went 7-for-7 on PATs – tied for seventh-best single-game total in program history – at Lindenwood (Sept. 30)… Went 2-for-3 with 44 and 29-yard field goals, in addition to going 5-for-5 on PATs, against Gardner-Webb (Oct. 14)... Was 6-for-6 on PATs at Southern Utah (Oct. 21)… Connected from 37 and 45 yards – matching his season-long – during a 2-for-2 day against North Alabama (Oct. 28), in addition to going 5-for-5 on PATs… His 11 points scored in games against Gardner-Webb and North Alabama are tied for the ninth-best single-game total in APSU history… Went 2-for-2 with field goals of 38 and 33 yards and was 3-for-3 on PATs at Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 4)… Was 3-for-3 on field goals – tied for the second-best single-game total in program history – and 3-for-3 on PATs against Utah Tech (Nov. 11) to post the fourth-most points scored (12) in a game in APSU history… His 23-yard field goal in the first quarter against Utah Tech was the 36th made field goal of his career and broke Austin Peay’s career field goal record… Went 3-for-3 on PATs in the FCS Playoffs First Round against Chattanooga (Nov. 25)… Finished the season with a team-leading 87 points while going 13-for-15 on field goals and 48-for-50 on PATs… Ranked 22nd in the FCS, 12th among FCS kickers, and third in the UAC in points scored… Also ranked 27th in the FCS, 11th among FCS kickers, and sixth in the UAC in points per game (7.3)… Ranked 34th in the FCS and fifth in the UAC with 1.08 field goals per game… Ranked seventh in the FCS and second in the UAC with a .867 field goal percentage… Ranked 24th in the FCS and fifth in the UAC in total field goals made… Set the Austin Peay single-season record for field goal percentage – breaking his own mark – and totaled the third-most made field goals in a season in program history… Also posted the second-most PATs made and attempted in a season in program history while tallying the 10th-best single-season PAT percentage (.960)… Recorded the seventh-most points scored and the second-most by a kicker in a single-season in program history… Finished his time at Austin Peay as the career leader in field goals made (38) and field goal percentage (71.7) while ranking second in points scored (242), PATs made (128), PATs attempted (133), and PAT percentage (96.2)… He also ranks third all-time with 53 field goals attempted.
2022: An All-ASUN Conference selection, he played in all 11 games as the Govs placekicker… Went 2-of-2 with a 41-yard and 49-yard field goal in the season opener against Western Kentucky (Aug. 27)… Was a perfect 9-of-9 on PATs against Presbyterian (Sept. 3) – marking the second-most PATs made and attempted in a single game in program history… Made both field goal attempts against Mississippi Valley State (Sept. 10), connecting from 36 and 30 yards while also going 5-for-5 on PATs – his 11 points scored are tied for the eighth-best single-game total by a kicker in program history… Connected from 45 and 23 yards on a 2-for-3 day against Central Arkansas (Oct. 1)… Drilled a program-record-tying 55-yard field goal as time expired in the first half against Jacksonville State (Oct. 29)… The 55-yard field goal was the sixth-longest in the FCS during the 2022 season, the longest made field goal in ASUN Conference history, and tied Brian Yarbrough’s APSU record, which was set in 1983 against Western Kentucky… Knocked down a 36-yard field goal and went 5-for-5 on PATs against Kennesaw State (Nov. 12)… Finished the season 44-of-45 on PATs – the third-most PATs made and attempted in a single season in program history… His 97.8 percentage on PATs is the sixth-best single-season mark in APSU history… Went 11-of-20 on field goal attempts during the 2022 season; his 11 made field goals are tied for the sixth-best season in APSU history and his 20 attempts are tied for the third most in a season… Finished the season with a team-leading 77 points scored.
2021: A Second Team All-OVC and All-Newcomer team selection for the Governors in his freshman campaign, Trujillo saw action in 10 of the Governors 11 games during the 2021 season… Began his collegiate career with back-to-back perfect outings, nailing his first-career field goal from 26 yards out and going a perfect 3-for-3 on PATs at Chattanooga (Sept. 2)… Made a 30-yard field goal at Ole Miss (Sept. 11) and went 2-for-2 on PATs… Had a season-best 45-yard field goal against Morehead State (Sept. 18) and connected on all six PAT attempts… Made three field goals against Tennessee State (Oct. 2) before matching the season-high mark in the rematch against the Tigers at Nissan Stadium (Nov. 13), where he also connected on a 44-yard attempt… Holds the program record with a made field goal in eight-consecutive games where he attempted a kick…Tied the Austin Peay record with 14 made field goals (Tom McMillian, 1987)… Broke the APSU record for field-goal percentage with a 77.8 percent mark… Finished with the third-best scoring mark by a kicker in program history with 78 points.
High School: A kicker and kickoff specialist under Ben Hall at Flowery Branch High School… Went 6-of-8 on field goals and 48-of-50 on extra points as a senior… Had 32 touchbacks on kickoffs… Also participated in golf for the Falcons.
Personal: Maddux Chase Trujillo is the son of Cassie Barrett and Dr. Manny Trujillo Jr.… Birthday is April 12… Has four siblings: Brady, Mackensi, Jax, and Knox… Father, Manny, played soccer at Gardner-Webb (2000-03)… A finance major.
