2021 (Graduate Student): Appeared in ten contests and started in six of the final seven games of the season… Was elevated to the starting left guard against Tennessee State (Oct. 2) where he remained for the rest of the season… Helped pave the way for the Governors’ OVC-best 32.6 points per game and 419.2 yards per game.
2020-2021 (Redshirt Junior): Played in eight games, starting all six OVC contests at guard, during the 2020-2021 season… Helped solidify an offensive line that paved the way for a conference-best 29.7 points per game in the spring and ranked second in passing yards per game (224), rushing yards per game (154) and total offense per game (377).
2019 (Redshirt Sophomore): Played in 14 games, starting 13 of them, including all three FCS Playoff games… a vital contributor on a Governor’s offensive line that allowed an OVC-low 14 sacks, despite playing two more games than any other team in the conference… helped the Govs offense set program records in total offense (6,288 yards), rushing touchdowns (34), and passing touchdowns (32).
2018 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in 10 games during his first season, and assumed the starting role at left tackle after Kyle Anderton’s season ended with an injury… recorded first career start at Jacksonville State (Sept. 29)… important cog along the offensive front that helped protect the quarterbacks, allowing just nine sacks in 11 games… helped the Govs rank first in the OVC in rushing yards with 237.5 per game.Â
2017 (Freshman):Â Did not see action, redshirted.
High School: Three-year letter winner at Lewisburg High School… Was named all-district following junior and senior season… Named all-metro after senior season… Selected to play in the North/South Mississippi All-Star Game… Blocked for a pair of 1,000 yard rushers during senior season… Ranked the No. 169 offensive guard in the country… Ranked the No. 60 prospect in the state of Mississippi.
Personal: Seth Clayton Johnson is the son of Clay and Ginny Johnson… Birthday is Dec. 10… has a sister, Abby… Earned a bachelor’s degree in health care management in Dec. 2020… Pursuing a master’s degree in health care administration at Austin Peay.
