Athletic Director's Honor Roll (F20, S21, F21)
2021 (Graduate Student): One of three Governors to start all 11 games on the defensive end… Recorded five tackles and assisted on a tackle for loss in season opener against Chattanooga (Sept. 2)… Tallied nine tackles in back-to-back games against Morehead State (Sept. 18) and Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 25)… Posted an eight-tackle performance at UT Martin (Oct. 30)… Had five tackles and a sack against Eastern Illinois (Nov. 6)… Enjoyed season’s best outing in rematch against Tennessee State (Nov 13) with six tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, an interception returned for 13 yards, and a quarterback hurry… Matched season high of nine tackles in the finale against Tennessee Tech (Nov. 20), while assisting on a tackle behind the line… Finished tied for second on the team with 71 total tackles and 38 solo stops… Tied for fifth with four tackles for loss.
2020-2021 (Redshirt Senior): Started all nine games during the 2020-2021 season... In the Governors’ season opener against Central Arkansas (Aug. 29), Henderson became the first player in college football history to make a tackle while wearing the number zero… Finished the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff game against the Bears with a season-high 12 tackles... Recorded at least one tackle for loss in four of the team’s six OVC contests in the spring and made a career-high two stops behind the line of scrimmage against Southeast Missouri (March 14)… Picked up sacks against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 21) and Jacksonville State (March 28)... Finished second on the team in tackles with 58, tied for third in quarterback hits with four, and tied for fourth in tackles for loss with 5.5.
Prior to Austin Peay: A transfer from Kennesaw State where he was a member of the Owls NCAA Playoff team in 2019… Played in 14 games during his redshirt senior campaign in 2019, finishing year with 43 tackles and two tackles for loss… Made career-high 10 tackles at Wofford, Nov. 30, in NCAA Playoff second round contest… Played in three games as a redshirt junior in 2018 for the Owls… Began collegiate career at Syracuse, playing two seasons with the Orange… Redshirted his initial year (2015) at Syracuse, played in five games as a redshirt freshman and appeared only in the season opener as a redshirt sophomore.
High School: A running back and linebacker for head coach Rick Finotti at St. Edward High School… Narned first-team all-district honors in 2014… Led St. Edward to a 13-2 record and the 2014 Division I state championship as a senior captain… Recorded 171 tackles in his senior season, including 17 for a loss, and 5.5 sacks… Also competed in track & field.
Personal: Troy Quentin Henderson Jr. is the son of Troy Henderson Sr. and Carmen Harnett… Birthday is Feb. 14… Has two siblings, Amiss and Jazmen… Pursuing a master’s degree in management at Austin Peay.
