As a redshirt senior in 2024-25: Played in three tournaments for the Governors, with three appearances in the lineup… posted a 76.55 scoring average, with counting score in 6-of-8 rounds played while in the lineup and one round at even or under par… beat Murray State’s Trey Wall, 2&1, to help the Governors secure a 6-4 victory over the Racers in the Battle of the Border… shot 227 (74-73-80) and finished tied for 36th while competing as an individual at the A-State Spring Invitational… carded a 218 (70-75-73) and finished tied for 36th at the ASUN Men’s Golf Championship.
As a redshirt junior in 2023-24: Played in eight tournaments for the Governors… posted a 74.95 scoring average, two rounds in the 60s, six rounds at even or under par, and a counting score in 14-of-19 rounds while in the lineup… opened the season with a score of 211 (70-72-69) and finished tied for 14th while playing as an individual at Eastern Kentucky’s Colonel Shootout… led the Govs with a 19th-place finish and a score of 215 (69-75-71) at UT Martin’s Grover Page Classic… finished tied for 30th a score of 222 (76-72-74) at the Xavier Invitational… beat Murray State’s Jakob Wellman, 3&1, in match play to help the Govs secure a 7-1 win in the Battle of the Border… played the first two rounds of the ASUN Men’s Golf Championship before being subbed out prior to the third round.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2022-23: Played in six tournaments and both matches for the Governors… carded a 73.16 stroke average – third-best on the team – with 14 of the 16 rounds he played while in the lineup counting toward the team score… recorded two rounds in the 60s and eight rounds at even or under par – both marks ranked fourth on the team… made his first appearance of the season at the Battle of the Border Match Play where he routed Murray State’s Carson Holmes, 4&3… shot an even-par 72 to help the Governors beat UT Martin in a stroke-play match at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club… shot a six-over 222 (78-71-73) and finished tied for 42nd at the Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate… recorded the first of three-straight top-20 finsihes to close the season when he posted a two-over 218 (73-73-72) and finished tied for 14th at the Ernie Denham Classic… led the Governors with an even-par 213 (71-71-71) and a 16th-place finish at the Big Blue Intercollegiate… opened the ASUN Men’s Golf Championship with back-to-back career-low, five-under 67s to post a 36-hole score of 134 – tied for the fourth-best mark in APSU history… paced the Govs at the ASUN Championship with an aggregate score of 208 (67-67-74) and a 14th-place finish.
As a sophomore in 2021-22: Competed in one tournament for the Govs … registered a final score of 239 at the Southern Invitational to finish tied for 56th … had a season-best round of 76 during the second round of the Southern Invitational.
Prior to Austin Peay: Spent one season at Middle Tennessee… did not compete for the Blue Raiders during the 2020-21 season… a member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll… prepped at Hendersonville High School and was a four-time letterwinner under head golf coach Andy Gilley… posted a 75.6 stroke average in his career as a Commando and finished 17th in the TSSAA Golf Championships as a senior… a three-time TSSAA State Championship participant who was ranked as high as No. 5 in the state… also earned four letters in football… was an all-county, all-district, and all-region selection in both golf and football.
Personal: Logan Clay Spurrier is the son of John and Elizabeth Spurrier… has two siblings, Graham and Sydney… his great uncle, Steve Spurrier, played football at Florida, where he won the 1966 Heisman Trophy, and is a College Football Hall of Famer after several stops as a head coach…born Jan. 28… a marketing major.
