As a graduate student in 2022-23: Played in five tournaments and both matches for the Governors… recorded a 76.06 stroke average with five of the 13 rounds he played while in the lineup counting toward the team score… finished 54th with a score of 230 (78-78-74) at the Xavier Invitational… carded a season-low, even-par 72 in the third round of the Sea Palms Invitational… shot a three-over 75 to help the Governors beat UT Martin in a stroke-play match at Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club… posted a seven-over 223 (73-72-78) to finished in 47th place at the Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate… played as an individual at the Ernie Denham Classic where he shot a season-low, six-over 222 (78-73-71) to post a season-best 27th-place finish… finished tied for 84th at the Big Blue Intercollegiate after shooting a 231 (77-78-76) in his final collegiate tournament.
As a senior in 2021-22: Competed in nine tournaments, totaling 27 rounds with 24 counting towards the Govs score… registered a stroke average of 74.67 – which ranked 21st in the OVC – with six rounds under par… had a stroke average of 73.44 during the second round of competition… was the Govs top individual in four tournaments … registered a season-best round of 69 on day one of the MU Tiger Invitational … led the Govs at the MU Tiger Invitational with a final score of 215 to finish tied for 15th … finished tied for 20th at the OVC Championships with a score of 230.
As a junior in 2020-21: Opened the stroke play portion of the schedule as Austin Peay’s top finisher at the Invitational at Savannah Harbor, carding a 221 (74-74-73)… was the only Gov to sink a birdie during the final round at Savannah Harbor, sinking five on his way to a one-over showing on the final day… led the Govs in birdies (11) and par-5 scoring (4.58 strokes per hole) at the Southern Invitational… after dropping his match play opener at Clarksville Country Club, won the rematch in Bowling Green (3&2)… once again led all Govs with eight birdies at the National Intercollegiate… opened the Big Blue Intercollegiate with a season-best 69… played two of three rounds for the Govs at the Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championships, closing out the season with a one-under 35 on the back nine.
As a sophomore in 2019-20: Made five appearances during truncated sophomore campaign… opened the season at the Murray State Invitational, carding a 70 in the second round as an individual… second-round 71 at the JT Poston Invitational; counted final two rounds in Sapphire Valley… performance as an individual at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate earned him a spot in the lineup at the fall-ending Pinetree Intercollegiate… took match play wins against Eastern Kentucky and Belmont at the President’s Day Match Play Championships… rallied for an even-par 72 in the final round of the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner, with four straight birdies on Hole Nos. 4-7 to close out the season.
As a freshman in 2018-19: The third player in program history to earn Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Year, joining Grant Leaver and Eric Barnes… also earned a spot on the All-Newcomer team… earned a pair of top-20 finishes, at the GolfWeek Program Challenge (20th) and the Wofford Invitational (t-11th)… 74.54 stroke average was the best by an OVC Freshman, aided by two rounds in the 60s and eight at or under-par… second-round 73.0 stroke average was second-best by a Gov… opened career with a season-low 69 at the GolfWeek event… three-under 32 on the front-nine in the final round at the Wofford Invitational… closed the regular season with a 69 at the Ryman Hospitality Intercollegiate.
Prior to Austin Peay: Decorated amateur career, earning six medalist honors in 2017 alone… 2017 Hurricane Junior Golf Tour Player of the Year… finished tied for sixth at the 2018 Justin Thomas Junior Championship and tied for seventh at the Scott Stallings Junior Championship, both American Junior Golf Association events; concluded 2018 ranked 360th in the nation on the AJGA leaderboard… also won the Sneds Tour Elite stop in Sevierville and posted top-10 finishes in the Tennessee Junior Amateur (ninth) and American Junior Golf Association Junior at RiverWatch (fifth)… was the seventh-ranked player in the state of Tennessee and No. 159 nationally in the National Junior Golf Scoreboard Class of 2018 rankings.
Personal: Micah James Knisley is the son of Timothy and Vicki Knisley… has four siblings: Tim, Caleb, Rebekah, and Joshua… born July 11… graduated from Austin Peay with a bachelor’s in finance in the spring of 2022… is now pursuing a master’s in leadership.
