As a sophomore in 2024-25: A 2025 Third Team All-ASUN selection… played in the lineup for the Governors in all 10 tournaments he appeared in… ranked second on the team with a 73.10 scoring average, counting scores in 28-of-29 rounds played, five rounds in the 60s, and 13 rounds at even or under par… opened the season with a 23rd-place finish when he shot even-par 216 (74-71-71) at the Golfweek Fall Challenge… posted his first top-10 finish of the season when he shot five-under 139 (69-71) and finished tied for ninth at the Grover Page Classic… picked up his first-career victory when he shot 13-under 200 (70-67-63) at Murray State’s The Buddy… carded a career-low round and the second-best 18-hole score in APSU history when he shot eight-under 63 in the final round of The Buddy, his 54-hole score of 200 also was tied for the second-best three-round score in program history… earned his first-career ASUN Golfer of the Week honors after winning The Buddy… won back-to-back tournaments after shooting three-under 207 (67-71-69) at the Xavier Invitational… earned his second-consecutive ASUN Golfer of the Week honors after winning the Xavier Invitational… became the first APSU golfers with multiple wins in a season since Marco Iten in 2013-14 when he picked up back-to-back victories at the The Buddy and the Xavier Invitational… was the first Governor to win back-to-back events since Chris Barron won the Cardinal Intercollegiate and Earl Yestingsmeier Classic during the 2005-06 season… beat Murray State’s Lennon Albans, 1Up, to help the Governors secure a 6-4 victory over the Racers in the Battle of the Border… went 1-1-1 at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate Match Play, picking up a 1Up win over Ohio’s Will Kates to help the Govs beat the Bobcats 4.5-1.5 in their opening match… shot 224 (72-74-78) and finished tied for 28th at the A-State Spring Invitational… shot 224 (72-74-78) and finished tied for 46th at the ASUN Men’s Golf Championship.

As a freshman in 2023-24: Played in 10 tournaments for the Governors… ranked third on the team with a 72.89 scoring average; also ranked second on the team with five rounds in the 60s and led the Govs with 13 rounds at even or under par… posted a top-10 finish in his collegiate debut when he shot 209 (67-72-70) and finished tied for seventh at Eastern Kentucky’s Colonel Shootout… led the Govs with a 12th-place finish and a score of 213 (73-69-71) at the AllState Streamsong Invitational… finished tied for third with a score of 140 (71-69) at the APSU Intercollegiate… beat Murray State’s Tyler Powell, 2&1, in match play to help the Govs secure a 7-1 win in the Battle of the Border… added another top-10 finish when he shot 210 (75-71-64) and finished tied for 10th at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate… carded a career-low and the third-best round in Austin Peay history when he shot seven-under 64 in the final round of the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate… carded a 216 (71-74-71) and finished tied for 21st at Tennessee State’s Big Blue Intercollegiate… shot 232 (75-75-82) and finished in 49th at the ASUN Men’s Golf Championship.

Prior to Austin Peay: Prepped at Taylor Country High School, where he was the runner-up for the 2022 Kentucky Mr. Golf Award… helped led the Cardinals to a region title and a fourth-place finish at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Golf Championship during his senior season in 2022… shot a three-under 141 and finished as the individual state runner-up at the 2022 KHSAA State Championship… also helped Taylor County finish as the KHSAA State Championship runner-up during the 2020 season… outside of his prep career, he ranked sixth in Kentucky and 272nd in the United States by the Junior Golf Scoreboard… posted a trio of top-10 finishes in the American Junior Golf Association, including a win at the Golfweek Junior Tour at Cherry Blossom in March 2022… also played tennis for the Cardinals during his prep career.

Personal: Seth Earl Byron Smith is the son of Byron and Rhonda Smith… has three siblings: Loren Mattingly, Raina Simpson, and Logan Smith… his brother, Logan, played baseball at Western Kentucky, and his sister, Logan, was a cheerleader at Kentucky… born May 29… a marketing major.
