Career Recap: Austin Peay
As a senior in 2020-21:
Spring Season
- Won a team-high four singles matches while playing in the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
- Went on a season-long three-match winning streak from Feb. 13 to March 6.
- Made a pair of appearances with Christian Edison in No. 3 doubles before playing in the No. 2 position with Oliver Andersson in the final ten matches of the season.
- Finished his Austin Peay career with 30 singles and 22 doubles victories.
As a junior in 2019-20:
Spring Season
- Won a team-high six singles matches in the spring, and won a team-high 10 singles matches in 2019-20.
- Played in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles positions, and went on a six-match winning streak from Feb. 8 to Feb. 29.
- Won four doubles matches, including a three-match winning streak in the No. 1 doubles position with Christian Edison from Feb. 18 to Feb. 28.
Fall Season
- Won six doubles and four singles matches during the fall.
- Won back-to-back singles matches at the APSU Hidden Duel to start the season.
- Won three-straight doubles matches, paired with Thiago Nogueira and Anton Damberg, at the UTC – Steve Baras Fall Invitational.
As a sophomore in 2018-19:
Spring Season
- Went 2-3 in conference singles play and 2-2 in conference doubles play.
- A three-set specialist, going 3-1 in singles matches that went to a third set.
Fall Season
- Went 3-4 in both singles and doubles play.
- Along with partner Timo Kiesslich, defeated Butler’s Lope Adelakun and Ryan Roegner in a tiebreak (8-7) in the first round of the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals.
- Also defeated Adelakun in the second round of the consolation draw in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
As a freshman in 2017-18:
Spring Season
- Picked up Austin Peay's lone point against Detroit, outlasting Alvaro Arce in three sets (6-2, 2-6, 10-6)
Fall Season
- Finished 3-2 in doubles on the season
- Paired with Chad Woodham for every doubles match and finished the season on a two-match win streak, defeating North Alabama’s Luca Cirenza and Cade Reasons (6-2) at the APSU Fall Invitational
Prior to Austin Peay
The Knoxville native earned Tennessee All-State honors all four years of high school, while posting a 76-10 career singles record… Was the 2015 Tennessee singles state champion… Led his team to back to back state titles in 2014 and 2015… Was the State Runner-up in 2016-17… The Knoxville News Sentinel selected him as their player of the year his senior season.
Personal
Son of Steven and Karen Lorino… both of his parents played tennis at ETSU… has one sibling, Stephen… born Oct. 29... a Finance major.
