Breanna Wonderly enters her second Austin Peay coaching staff season and will be working with the team’s pitchers.
This is the third time Wonderly and Stanfill have been together; first at Illinois (2015-16), when Wonderly was a pitcher and Stanfill was pitching coach, and in 2018 when Wonderly served as graduate manager at Louisville where Stanfill also was pitching coach.
Wonderly came to Austin Peay after serving as pitching coach at OVC rival Morehead State during the 2019 season.
Prior to her time at Morehead State, she played one season in the National Professional Fastpitch League with the Chicago Bandits, making 12 appearances.
Wonderly was a three-year letter-winning pitcher at Illinois, helping lead the Illini to back-to-back trips to NCAA Tournament her junior and senior seasons, earning first-team All-Big 10 honors as a senior.
She also was an All-Big 10 All-Academic Team selection and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Midwest Region selection following both her junior and senior seasons.
Wonderly started her college softball career at Heartland Community College, earning Mid-West Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year honors, as well as first-team All-Conference and All-Region 24 selections.
She is also currently working on a Master’s Degree in Sports Management.
