Danielle Liermann is in her second season as an assistant coach for Governors softball.
Liermann is in her her second stint as a member of Kassie Stanfill’s coaching staff and first as a full-time assistant, having also served as a volunteer assistant coach during the 2020-21 school year.
She will serve as the team's hitting coach as well as working with the infielders.
Prior to returning to APSU, Liermann served as a production, marketing and sales manager for Bellalete Softball Apparel, in Los Angeles.
A three-time All-Ohio Valley Conference First Team selection – one of only three Governors to earn first-team honors at least three times -- a two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All Central Region pick and a Second-Team All-American honoree in 2019 by Softball America.
Liermann was also selected the OVC Player of the Week four times in her career, the most by any APSU softball player.
As a four-year starter for the Govs, Liermann finished her career as the school’s all-time leader in hits (228), home runs (49), RBIs (175), doubles (45), total bases (422) and slugging percentage (.645), while also setting program single-season records for home runs (18) and RBIs (52) – both coming during her senior year.
The Simi Valley, California, native is a two-time graduate of Austin Peay, earning a bachelor’s degree in general studies, with a education focus, in 2019 and a Master’s Degree in Leadership in 2020.
