Austin Peay State University Athletics

Heather Stanfill

Heather Stanfill returns to Austin Peay as an assistant coach after graduating in 2004 with a major in special education.

The Erin, Tenn., native joined the Lady Govs as the first-base coach after playing three seasons in the outfield. The left-handed hitter was three-year starter for the Lady Govs and was team captain during her senior season.

She came to Austin Peay after playing one year of both softball and basketball at Dyersburg State Community College.

At Dyersburg State, Stanfill’s name still occupies the record books. She holds the No. 1 spot for single-season runs scored (31), and is fourth in stolen bases (9) and fifth for base on balls (14). She also ranks second with her on base percentage (.504).

Stanfill earned All-Area, All-District and All-District Tournament at Houston County High School, where she played softball, basketball and golf.

"Coaching is a dream I’ve always had," Stanfill said. "I’m really excited to have this opportunity at so young of an age."
