2024: Appeared in all 12 games for the Governors off the bench… Made three tackles, including two solo stops, in the season opener at Louisville (Aug. 31)… Assisted on a tackle for loss at Central Arkansas (Sept. 14)… Recorded his lone sack of the season in a three-tackle performance at West Georgia (Oct. 5)… Made a season-high four tackles against Tarleton State (Oct. 26)… Assisted on a tackle for loss in the season finale against Chattanooga (Nov. 23)... Finished the season with 22 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack.
Prior to Austin Peay: Played four seasons at Nevada (2020-23) where he redshirted during his true freshman season. 2023: Played in 10 games for the Wolf Pack during his redshirt junior season… Had a career-best five tackles – all solo stops – in the season opener at No. 6 USC (Sept. 2)… Recorded three tackles and a tackle for loss that caused a safety at Fresno State (Sept. 30)… Added two tackles against Hawaii (Nov. 4)… Totalted three tackles at Utah State (Nov. 11)… Finished the season with 20 tackles, one tackle for loss, two quarterback hurries, and a safety. Played five seasons at Ohio (2018-23) where he redshirted during his true freshman season. 2022: Played in seven games… Posted two tackles against Colorado State (Oct. 7)… Added two tackles against Fresno State (Nov. 19)… Recorded half a tackle for loss at UNLV (Nov. 26)… Finished the season with seven tackles, half a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hurry. 2021: Played in one game and recorded a tackle in his collegiate debut at California (Sept. 4). 2020: Did not see action and redshirted during his true freshman season.
High School: Played linebacker and running back at Folsom High School in Folsom, California… Recorded 50 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, eight pass breakups, and a forced fumble during his senior season en route to earning First Team All-Sierra Foothill League honors… Helped the Bulldogs win the 2018 Sierra Foothill League Championship and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division 1-AA State Championship… Recorded 25 tackles, an interception, and recovered a fumble during his junior season in 2018… Also rushed 38 times for 186 yards and a touchdown as a junior… Rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and a two-star by Rivals… Also competed in track & field for the Bulldogs.
Personal: Davion Syncere Blackwell is the son of Catina Blackwell… Birthday is Sept. 26… Has two siblings, Dorian and Artelle… Brother, Dorian, was his teammate at Nevada (2021-23) for three seasons before transferring to Maine for the 2024 season… Graduated from Austin Peay in May 2025 with a bachelor of science... Pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in sociology.
