Troy Morris returns for his first full season as Austin Peay’s assistant coach for men’s and women’s cross country programs as well as for women’s track and field. He assumed the position during the 2008-09 campaign after serving as a graduate assistant in the athletics strength and conditioning program. Coach Morris will be working with the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers in the upcoming season.

Morris has spent many years on the track, first as a sprinter under Eddie Diehl at Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Va. Morris competed collegiately in short sprints at Virginia Commonwealth University prior to enlisting in the U.S. Army. While stationed both overseas and at Ft. Campbell, he competed in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Morris received his masters of science degree in Sport and Wellness Leadership from Austin Peay in August 2009, after receiving his bachelors of science from Austin Peay in Health and Wellness Promotion in 2007. He also owns technical degrees in fitness and nutrition, massage therapy and pre-physical therapy. Morris has worked in fitness/wellness professions since 2005 and is currently a certified health and fitness instructor.
