Biography

2018-19: Like teammate Savannah Amato, injury upset her final campaign, but she’ll have one more chance at outdoor competition… runner-up at the Saluki Fast Start (3.80m) and Ed Temple Classic (3.70m) to open indoor season… won the Thundering Herd Invitational, earning Ohio Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors thanks to her first career 4.00m height… did not finish lower than third in her final five meets, with three runner-up finishes including a silver at the 2019 OVC Indoor Championships… runner-up at the Coastal Carolina Invitational before injury brought her outdoor campaign to an early end.

2017-18: A quartet of runner-up finishes during indoor season while finishing in the top-five four times during the outdoor campaign… posted runner-up honors in three straight weeks at the Samford Open (3.65m), Thundering Herd Invitational (3.65m) and Don DeNoon Invitational (3.74m)… placed second to earn silver at the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships with a 3.80m mark… started outdoor slate with another runner-up finish at the Coastal Carolina Invitational (3.65m)… tied for third with a 3.70m mark at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold… personal-best 3.87m mark earned her a tie for fifth at the Hilltopper Relays… placed fourth and nearly equaled her personal-best with a 3.86m mark at the APSU Invitational.

2016-17: Pole vaulter continued to rank near the top of the podium almost every time out… finished top-five in the pole vault during indoor season and in all four outdoor attempts… runner-up in the vault at the John Craft Invitational with a 3.49m mark… placed third at the OSU Tune-Up (3.71m) and followed that with a silver medal-earning performance at the OVC Indoor Championships (3.74m)… opened her outdoor campaign with back-to-back third-place finishes at the APSU Invitational (3.75m) and the Georgia Tech Invitational (3.74m)… picked up another silver medal in the pole vault at the OVC Outdoor Championships, clearing 3.86m.

2015-16: Talented pole vault artist formed dynamic duo with Savannah Amato… picked up four top-two finishes during indoor season, the first a runner-up showing at the Ed Temple Invitational (3.34m)… earned a share of first place at the ETSU Invitational with a 3.65m showing… runner-up at the Thundering Herd Invitational (3.60m)… earned gold and set a personal-best with a 3.81m mark in her first OVC Indoor Championships appearance… had a trio of runner-up showings during indoor season: Margaret Simmons Invitational (3.50m), APSU Invitational (3.72m) and Missouri State Invitational (3.66m)… earned a bronze in her first OVC Outdoor games with a 3.59m mark.

Prior to Austin Peay: Pole vaulter for Tavis Kennedy at Fort Campbell High School… won the state indoor and outdoor titles as a senior, holding the state indoor record with a 3.50m mark and the school record with a 3.65m in outdoor season… earned bronze in the outdoor pole vault as a junior at the state championships.

Personal: Daughter of Quay and Tamara Hix… brother Robert plays football at Murray State… born July 22… plans to major in health and human performance.
