Biography

2019-20: Provided plenty of much-needed depth in the sprints… broke the eight-second mark in seven of eight 60-meter attempts, including a season-best 7.92 mark at the Saluki Fast Start… in first post-Christmas appearance, took fourth overall in the 55-meter dash with a 7.29 mark at the Ed Temple Classic.

2018-19: Continues to be a huge part of the sprint group and its successes… took seventh in the 60m dash at the Saluki Fast Start and made the final in the 55m at the Ed Temple Classic, ultimately finishing eighth… seventh in the 60m at the Fred Wilt Open… season-best 7.80 in the 60m at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships… opened outdoor season with an eighth-place finish in the 100m dash at the Coastal Carolina Invitational… sixth in the 100m at the APSU Invitational… season-best 12.05 in the 100m at the Tiger Invitational… earned bronze in the 4x100m relay at the OVC Outdoor Championships, helping the Govs finish third with a 47.00 mark… between the end of her junior and start of senior season, named 2019 Austin Peay State University Homecoming Queen.  

2017-18: Sprinter made strides in her second season… busy weekend in Carbondale for the Saluki Fast Start, placing fourth in the long jump (5.13m), sixth in the 200m (26.34) and third in the 60m dash (7.73)… personal-best 5.35m long jump at the Don DeNoon Invitational on return journey to Carbondale… placed sixth in the long jump at the Buckeye Tune-Up and made the finals in the 60m dash, placing seventh (7.89)… picked up points at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships with a seventh-place (7.80) showing in the 60m dash… hampered during outdoor season with injuries but put together a pair of eighth-place finishes in the long jump (5.24m) and 100m (12.26) at the APSU Invitational… an integral part of the relay unit, helping the Govs to four top-five finishes in the 400m relays (including runner-up at the APSU Invitational), and made three appearances during indoor season in the 1600m relay.

2016-17: Freshman put together a quality first season for the Govs… opened her Austin Peay career with a third-place run in the 60m dash at the Vanderbilt Opener, finishing third (7.69)… cracked the finals in the 60m at the Gene Edmonds Invitational, finishing seventh (7.67)… took runner-up in the 200m (25.60) and fourth in the 60m (7.73) at the John Craft Invitational… set a personal-best in the 200m at the MTSU Invitational, finishing second with a 25.27 mark… was second in the 200m (25.64) and fifth in the 60m (7.64) at the OSU Tune-Up… picked up points in the 200m (25.73) and narrowly missed the podium in the 60m (7.62, fourth) at the OVC Indoor Championships; her 7.57 during 60m qualifying was a personal-best… ran a more limited schedule during outdoor season; her runner-up mark in the 100m (12.09) at the APSU Invitational was a season-best… set a personal-best in the 100m at the Tiger Invitational (12.01), finishing sixth… personal-best outdoor 200m mark of 25.49 came during preliminaries of the OVC Outdoor Championships; she finished 15th overall... part of a relay team that just missed the podium at the OVC Outdoor Championships, finishing fifth (46.93) in the 400m event.

Prior to Austin Peay: Competed in sprints and jumps for Patrick Shairs at Battle Ground Academy, where she broke five school records… won the 100m dash state title as a senior in the outdoor championships after earning bronze as a sophomore and silver as a junior… never finished lower than sixth in the state championships in the 200m dash, earning runner-up honors as a senior in the 200m indoor… Vanderbilt Great Eight Champion in the 100m and 200m dashes as a senior after earning runner-up in each event the previous season… a 4x100m relay state champion as a sophomore… earned 2016 All-Midstate and TSWA All-State honors for her track and field exploits.

Personal: Daughter of Thomas Battle and Regina Bailey… has one brother, Quentin… born April 13… plans to major in health and human performance.
