Biography

2018-19: Wrapped up her indoor career but will have one more shot at outdoor glory… earned six indoor victories, including her sixth Ohio Valley Conference Indoor gold thanks to a 4.02m mark (sixth all-time)… also won the vault at the Saluki Fast Start, Ed Temple Classic, Vulcan Invitational, Bulldog Open and Redhawk Open… season-best 4.10m mark at the Redhawk Open, which ranks third all-time… competed twice during outdoor, at the Coastal Carolina Invitational and Florida Relays, before injury shut her down for the season… still won the vault at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.

2017-18: Eight wins in a junior season that saw her return to the NCAA East Preliminary for the third consecutive year… only finished outside the top-five twice in 15 events… opened her indoor season with a win at the Saluki Fast Start… broke the school indoor record with a 4.15m mark at the Samford Open, securing the first of back-to-back wins (and Ohio Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week honors); also took the top spot at the Don DeNoon Invitational two weeks later… also earned Field Athlete of the Week after Buckeye Tune-Up, where she vaulted 3.91m… picked up her second straight indoor gold medal in the pole vault at the 2018 OVC Indoor Championships with a 4.05m mark… opened outdoor season with a win at the Coastal Carolina Invitational… broke her own school outdoor record at the Hilltopper Relays with a 4.17m mark… earned OVC Field Athlete of the Week honors three straight weeks for her work at Vanderbilt (second, 3.85m), Florida Relays (sixth, 3.95m) and Hilltopper Relays… won the APSU Invitational (4.01m) and Memphis Tiger Invitational (3.92m) to close the regular season… picked up her third straight Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championship with a 4.05m mark in Cookeville… made her third straight NCAA East Preliminary appearance, finishing 32nd in Tampa.

2016-17: Made a return trip to the NCAA East Preliminary as she continued carving out her place in Austin Peay history… picked up six wins—three indoor, three outdoor—during her second season… won the John Craft Invite with a 3.64m mark… closed the indoor slate with five consecutive top-five finishes, including back-to-back wins at the OSU Tune-Up (3.86m) and her first gold medal at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships (3.89m)… opened outdoor season with a win at the Gamecock Quad, posting a 3.50m mark… hit 4.03m mark at the Hilltopper Relays, finishing third; she later eclipsed four meters at the Tiger Invitational, finishing third with a 4.01m mark… won the APSU Invitational with a 3.90m height… made it back-to-back outdoor gold medals at the OVC Outdoor Championships with a 3.86m vault… tied for 25th in the pole vault at the 2017 NCAA East Preliminary in Lexington, Kentucky, clearing the first two heights on the second attempt to tie with Tulane’s Rebekah Markel and Kent State’s Maria Horrigan.

2015-16: Burst onto the scene as part of a dynamic pole vault combination with Dascha Hix… earned first of two indoor victories at the Ed Temple Invitational… got the win with a 3.81m mark at the Thundering Herd Invitational; later equaled that indoor mark at the Music City Challenge… earned bronze at first OVC Indoor Championship appearance, hitting 3.60m… posted four more wins during outdoor season: Margaret Simmons Invitational (3.65m), APSU Invitational (3.87m), Missouri State Invitational (3.76m) and the OVC Outdoor Championships, where her 4.04m mark earned her not only a gold medal but qualification for the NCAA East Preliminary, the fourth APSU freshman to earn a preliminary qualification since 2007.

Prior to Austin Peay: Competed for Kevin Keller at Caledonia River Valley HS... runner-up in the state indoor meet as a junior and a senior... 2015 regional champion, hitting 3.66m to break the region record... school-record holder at 3.75m.

Personal: Daughter of Joseph and Crista Amato... has two sisters, Danielle and Sabrina... sister Sabrina was on the swim team at Ohio Wesleyan... born Aug. 16... biology major.
