2024: Appeared in 11 games off the bench at linebacker and on special teams… Made two tackles in the season opener at Louisville (Aug. 31)… Had a tackle for loss against Alabama A&M (Sept. 21)… Matched his season high with two tackles against Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 16)… Finished the season with six tackles, including two special teams stops, and a tackle for loss.
2023: Played in all 12 games at linebacker and on special teams… Made three tackles in his Austin Peay debut at Southern Illinois (Sept. 2)… Added three tackles and his first tackle for loss against ETSU (Sept. 16)… Posted a season-high four tackles at Lindenwood (Sept. 30)… Finished the season with 10 tackles and a tackle for loss… Was tied for fifth on the team with two total special teams tackles.
Prior to Austin Peay: Played two seasons at Tyler Junior College (2021-22). 2022: A Second Team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection… Opened the season with two tackles and a tackle for loss against Resolution Prep (Aug. 27)... Posted three tackles and a tackle for loss at Kilgore College (Sept. 3)... Had seven tackles, a tackle for loss, and a forced fumble against Blinn College (Oct. 15)… Totaled eight tackles and a tackle for loss against Cisco College (Oct. 22)… Recorded a career-high 12 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss against Kilgore College (Oct. 29)… Finished the season with 32 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble in seven games. 2021: Played in all 12 games for the Apaches... Had four tackles in his debut against Kilgore College (Sept. 4)... Picked up a season-best 11 tackles and a half tackle for loss against RPA College Prep (Sept. 18)… Had eight tackles and a tackle for loss against Trinity Valley (Sept. 25)… Totaled six tackles against New Mexico Military (Oct. 16) and five tackles against Blinn (Oct. 23)… Finished his freshman campaign with 52 tackles – which ranked fourth on the team – and 1.5 tackles for loss.
High School: Played linebacker for head coach Drew Sanders at Vandegrift High School… Recorded 136 tackles, 5.0 sacks, a forced fumble, and blocked a field goal en route to being named a Second Team All-State selection and the District Defensive MVP… Also had one receiving touchdown during his senior season… Helped lead the Vipers to the University Interscholastic League Texas 6A Division 2 quarterfinals… Also competed in track and field for the Vipers, running the 100 meters, 200 meters, and various relays.
Personal: Austin Charles Skoglund is the son of Eric and Cristine Skoglund… Birthday is March 26… Has two siblings, Ryker and Jase… Brother, Jase, is a freshman tight end on the Governors football team… A kinesiology major with a concentration in exercise science.
