2023: A Second Team All-UAC selection, he played in all 12 games and made 11 starts at nickelback… Totaled four tackles, half a sack, and a pass breakup in the season opener at Southern Illinois (Sept. 2)… Recorded seven tackles and half a tackle for loss at Tennessee (Sept. 9)… Tallied nine tackles – with six solo stops – against ETSU (Sept. 16)… Had eight tackles, matched his career high with 2.0 tackles for loss, and had a 26-yard pick-six – his first collegiate touchdown – against Gardner-Webb (Oct. 14)… Added four tackles and a tackle for loss against North Alabama (Oct. 28)… Posted a season-best 10 tackles – with nine solo stops – at Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 4)… Picked up eight tackles and a pass breakup against Utah Tech (Nov. 11)… Recorded eight tackles and an interception in the FCS Playoffs First Round against Chattanooga (Nov. 25)… Finished the season with 73 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, half a sack, two interceptions, and three pass breakups… Ranked 16th in the UAC and fourth on the team in total tackles… Ranked fifth in the UAC in interceptions and was one of just five players in the conference with a pick-six.
2022: Played in all 11 games and started the final six contests of the season… Made just nine tackles in the first four games of the season before taking over for Kam Ruffin, who suffered a season-ending injury early in the Eastern Kentucky (Sept. 24) game… Racked up a career-highs of 13 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss to go along with a pass breakup in comeback win against EKU… Had five tackles and an interception the following week at Central Arkansas (Oct. 1)… Made nine tackles, matched his career high with two tackles for loss, and recorded an interception against Jacksonville State (Oct. 29)… Had six tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a sack at North Alabama (Nov. 5)… Posted nine tackles and a pass breakup against Kennesaw State (Nov. 12)… Finished the season with 10 tackles and a sack at Alabama (Nov. 19)… Ranked third on the team and 11th in the ASUN with 67 total tackles… Finished the season with 7.0 tackles for loss which ranked fifth on the team, led APSU defensive backs, and was tied for 12th in the ASUN… Was one of four Govs with multiple interceptions, he ranked fourth on the team and was tied for eighth in the ASUN with two picks… Averaged 8.2 tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss per game after taking over for Ruffin in the final seven games of the season.
2021: Played in 10 games, making five starts at safety and two at nickelback… Had nine tackles against Ole Miss (Sept. 11)… Tallied seven tackles and two pass breakups against Morehead State (Sept 18)… Had six tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble at Tennessee State (Nov. 13) …Had his best outing in the finale against Tennessee Tech (Nov. 20) with a season-high 10 tackles and two tackles for loss… Finished sixth on the team with 39 tackles and tied for fourth with four tackles for loss.
2020-2021: Did not see action in 2020-2021.
High School: A safety for head coach Josh Niblett at Hoover High School… An Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 7A All-State selection as a senior… Helped Hoover reach AHSAA Class 7A state semifinals in 2019 and a Region 3 championship in 2018.
Personal: Jekarajan Quintrez Chapman is the son of Quintress and Kory Chapman… Birthday is Dec. 25… Has a sister, Bre… Father, Kory, was a running back at Jacksonville State (2002-03) where he was a 2003 First Team All-OVC selection and then played professionally for NFL Europe’s Cologne Centurions (2005) and the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts (2005)… A health and human performance major with a sport and wellness specialist concentration.
