Austin Peay State University Athletics

When head coach Malik Tabet looked to further his staff, he found Joseph Vann, formerly of Division III power the University of Texas-Tyler, to be a perfect fit.

Vann brings more than five years of experience as a player and coach at the Division III level. As a student-athlete, he excelled  on the doubles side. In fact, he posted a .652 doubles winning percentage during his career as a Patriot, with the team winning three American Southwest Conference (ASC) East championships. He also ranks in the top-15 all-time with 30 doubles wins.

His coaching career is made up of similar success, working with both men and women's teams. From 2007-09, he worked alongside head coach Chris Bizot to win three ASC East titles, with both men and women's teams, and advanced to the 2008 and 2009 NCAA Division III Regionals. That run included seven players named Division III All-Americans and four qualifiers for the ITA's Small College "Super Bowl".

At Austin Peay, Vann again will assist with both the men and women's programs, while also assisting with Governors Indoor Tennis Center.
